Name 5.
I can name 10 and I'm pretty sure you know which 10 I mean.

This is the list I found on the 'net:

1. You shall not worship any other god but YHWH. Not useful except to Christians

2. You shall not make a graven image. I'm not even sure what this means

3. You shall not take the name of YHWH in vain. Not useful except to Christians

4. You shall not break the Sabbath. Not useful except to Christians

5. You shall not dishonor your parents. This is a hugely stupid commandment, as social advancements are often scorned to start. Parents do not always know best.

6. You shall not murder. You don't need the bible to figure this out.

7. You shall not commit adultery Tons of people do this, not useful. Another useless Christian moral

8. You shall not steal. Hurr loving durr.

9. You shall not commit perjury. This is necessary in many cases, most of the time it's obvious.

10. You shall not covet. Can't be helped in the sense it was meant.

Ever been cheated on? Didn't think so. It doesn't feel very good.

1. Atheists don't believe in any god, so you're still following the first one.
2. It means you won't make idols of other gods to worship. Atheists also don't do this anyways.
3. Useless to Atheists as well, so what's the point of saying God dammit or any other religion related curse at all?
4. Originally, this was a day long ceremony, since it isn't and demand for business to continue through the weekend, it has been adapted to fit the needs of religious people who have no choice in this matter (ie military personnel)
5. Not really. Parents are supposed to be the main caretakers and basic moral guiding posts for their offspring. Yeah, some of them are stuffty at it, but that's their own fault, not Christianity. Just because a kid is pissy at their parents for not letting them play the xBox is no reason they should be a richard to them.
6. True, but it doesn't make it any less valid.
7. Yeah, and that's hardly a failing of Religion. That's humanity's fault.
8. Wow, such a riveting counterpoint. Are you even trying?
9. So lying under oath is necessary? I do not see how this is needed at all unless you did something wrong and you want to avoid your punishment.
10. It happens, yes, that's human nature. But as humans, we have the ability to better ourselves and learn from our mistakes. that's the point of having free will and people to guide us to make the right choices.

You're acting like atheists are the only non Christians.

You're acting like atheists are the only non Christians.
Just as you act as if Christianity is the only incorrect belief. I don't hear nothing about any other religions from you or anyone else.

1. Atheists don't believe in any god, so you're still following the first one. Technicality, I'm sure it was meant as more of a "you have to believe in our god", which is moronic, because if you don't believe in their god you're not going to follow their testament. Useless, yes.
2. It means you won't make idols of other gods to worship. Atheists also don't do this anyways. Again, it restricts people who aren't following the rules anyway. Useless,  yes.
3. Useless to Atheists as well, so what's the point of saying God dammit or any other religion related curse at all? Applies only to people inside the religion, and is therefore useless.  Useless, yes.
4. Originally, this was a day long ceremony, since it isn't and demand for business to continue through the weekend, it has been adapted to fit the needs of religious people who have no choice in this matter (ie military personnel)  Again, completely religious and not a moral.  Useless,  yes.
5. Not really. Parents are supposed to be the main caretakers and basic moral guiding posts for their offspring. Yeah, some of them are stuffty at it, but that's their own fault, not Christianity. Just because a kid is pissy at their parents for not letting them play the xBox is no reason they should be a richard to them. This is actually a moral, and I have to agree it's a reasonable one, although it needs to be more specific, as there really isn't anything wrong with doing so as an adult.  Useless,  no, but still is imperfect.
6. True, but it doesn't make it any less valid. I'd rather figure it out by myself than have a two-thousand year old book tell me.  Useless,  no, but obvious.
7. Yeah, and that's hardly a failing of Religion. That's humanity's fault. A book isn't going to fix a human-based thing, even if it's possibly the most influential one in the entire world. Useless, no, and it's done by enough people that the moral is useful.
8. Wow, such a riveting counterpoint. Are you even trying? I didn't feel this needed any further elaboration. Useless,  no, but obvious.
9. So lying under oath is necessary? I do not see how this is needed at all unless you did something wrong and you want to avoid your punishment. You're right, lying under an oath is pretty bad, I don't really need a book to tell me this though. Useless,  no, but obvious.
10. It happens, yes, that's human nature. But as humans, we have the ability to better ourselves and learn from our mistakes. that's the point of having free will and people to guide us to make the right choices. It's another one of those things that can't be helped and lots of people probably do, it's something that you could possibly consider useful.  yes.

I thought one there was possibly a moral we could take from the bible, the rest were either not morals, specific to christians, or not really good morals.

My only point was that you can't even take much from the commandments, much less the bible.

Haha, Bruce Campbell. Who added that? Made my day.

I have a professor that's actually Buddhist, he's cool and the stuff he participates in is neat. Also I'm part Native American, so I keep an open mind.

I don't understand religions like Scientology, Mormons, Jehovah's Witnesses, also any religious cult. But I'm not going to hold it against the person, unless they're clearly out to forget with people.

Those 10 commandments are messed up, it looks like.

Haven't read the bible so I dunno.

No, I bring up Christianity the most because that's what most people here are. All religions are false if they have anything to do with the supernatural. The Ten Commandments are nothing but horse stuff.

the amount of butthurt in this thread is astronomical

I kind of like it when my butt hurts. It gives me a masochistic thrill.
