I just think they need a better story line than Get Pokemon -> Beat 8 Gym Leaders -> Foil evil plot to conquer world -> Beat Elite 4

Map of the Pokemon world so far. http://serebii.net/pokearth/

That's cool.

I never knew it was arranged like that.
I could spend hours in the original map area of that.

Pokemons is meeeeelllllttttiiinnnnggg

Playing pokemon makes me nostalgic and sad and I cant help from crying. I want to replay Leaf Green, but I cant, I dont know why. I  just breezed through sapphire with no problems, and that was my first game for game boy advance

The first video games I ever owned were Off Road, Pokemon Red and Pokemon Blue, which I all got for Christmas when I was 5, along with a purple Gameboy Color to play them on. It was so awesome. I still have my purple Gameboy, and I even use it every so often. My Red version has long since run its internal battery dry which doesn't allow saving, and Blue version has escaped from me off into the expanse of my house, but it still brings back good memories of trading and battling with my friends. Pokemon games were such an impact on my childhood.

EPIPHANY EDIT: Actually, the first Pokemon "game" I ever owned was one of those pocket Pikachu things, where it racked up points when it moved, which you used to play a slot machine and buy the Pikachu gifts. I had no idea what Pokemon was when I bought it, lol. I remember asking my mom, "What's a "Pokemon Pikachu"?", since that's what it said on the front of the device. She had no idea, so I just didn't think about it any more until I got my other Pokemon games I mentioned.

My first handheld game ive ever played was pokemon Ruby, BEST loving POKEMON GAME EVER that ive played so far. it's the only one that has a plot. then I lost it when I was little, I actually had a dream that someone found it I was so happy, then I woke up and was sad

Heart Gold and Soul Silver are remakes of Silver and Gold, so that should please nostalgic people.

They apparently look nothing like the originals, with recycled buildings and things from the other DS pokemon games. Just what I heard though, I don't buy games I can't read. Also the first gen region revisits are a joke with gym leaders being severely under leveled compared to you by the time you beat the elite four to get to them.

Red/Blue/Yellow = Awesome
Silver/Gold = My favorites of the series
Crystal = Getting a bit complicated
Ruby/Sapphire/Emerald = Could not beat these games for the life of me, half the map was flooded and they simply weren't fun
Diamond/Pearl = Better then the GBA ones, although that isn't saying much. I managed to beat these ones
Platium = It's the same game as D/P except a bit more, or something. I haven't beaten it yet, I keep getting tired of it.

Honestly I'd like it if they went back to basics. I mean sure, maybe someone likes making their thing pretty or entering them in beauty pageants or running around symmetrical tunnels digging for stuff items you'd never ever use but still, all these side things are just broken unless they can perfect them, and while they're trying to implement these things the core game itself suffers from a lack of attention. Silver/Gold and the first gen games did not have a bunch of irrelevant side stuff, they were 100% adventure time and that's why they were the highlights for many people.

Haha me too. although it was actually my friends. I used to borrow one of his many GBA's to play it.

I still have Pokemon Silver lying around somewhere, along with my good old GBC.

I should pop it back in and start playing again, I don't remember ever getting very far when I was little.
