Author Topic: New RTB Option  (Read 1210 times)

Ok, so I just thought of a cool revision of my previous file downloader suggestion.  I suggestion an RTB option that auto updates you with all RTB approved add-ons.  But, not the zipped version, it extracts it into your blockland folder for you as an unzipped file, reducing load time on other servers, and at the same time it wouldn't crowd your add-ons folder when hosting.  This would speed up server load times a lot, especially for new people.

Would it be possible to unzip files with blockland functions?

Wait, so you want RTB to automatically give you every approved add-on made? What a waste of space.

I'm currently working on something that will download all required content in rtb add-ons on a server direct from the RTB server instead of the blockland server, which would be accessible from the Join Server page.

You're the best.

This would be a bad idea because what if you have a slow computer, it might crash and the minigame crashes if you have to much stuff for it.

= Bad Idea

But would be a good idea if it wasn't for the minigame thing and memory space!

You have no idea what you're talking about.

I read this and thought that you were stupid at first, but then I thought about it and realized it wasn't actually a bad idea. So long as it only downloads the model/sound/etc. files, and there's an option to actually set this (I never download music, for example), it'd work and work quite well.

Each time you upload an add-on to RTB it creates a copy that only contains shapes/textures/sounds that people can download separately so they have the content but it won't be in their add-on lists or anything.

Will their choices to not download sounds or textures apply?

There will be a new option to download RTB content which will override those settings.
