I have been pondering on this ever since a few weeks ago when it was brought to my attention that there is no true meaning of existence. There is no true meaning, or purpose, anything, to life, existence, to being. I mean, we are all born. We all die. It almost makes it simply pointless to do anything with your life if we are all going to turn up the same. I don't think death cares if you were a hobo, a murderer, or loving Bill Gates. When you die, you die. That's the end. It makes everything you worked for in your life entirely pointless. Sure, you can work hard enough to make the next generation of your family live a better life a little easier, but then they'll die.

All I'm saying is I don't see what the point of life is. I look at the human race, or any species of life, actually, and it almost saddens me. We are born. We learn to walk, we learn a language and to communicate with others. We get a job, we become successful. Then we die. It makes everything you work for... pointless.

These are my views. Discuss yours.

Welcome to deep thinking

Thinking that lets the Commies win. Don't let the commies win

if there is a god, we're all just one giant loving game of The Sims

Ahhhhh

I started reading this and realized what it was about, I just managed to get rid of these thoughts the other day and I don't want them back :U

I read the rest and just started thinking about heaven, inb4religionwar&inverted

I don't get peoples rationale for thinking life is worthless if it ends when you die, doesn't that kind of make life 100x more meaningful? Stop whining and do as much as you can before you are dead. Most animals suffer and fight just to live long enough to reproduce so find yourself EXTREMELY lucky you are a human with some choices.

I believe that the real meaning of life is different for everybody; that what your meaning of life is what you make of it.  If you enjoy life, life's meaning is to have fun; if you make money and succeed because that is your goal, my guess is your meaning of life is to do your best to succeed.  I do not believe it is pointless, and even if it is that doesn't mean you can't enjoy it.

Live, don't just be alive.

I used to think that. All the angels controlled our thoughts and played with real humans like the Sims.

And then I got an education.

I'm not complaining, I am glad I am human and am in control of my life.

you're leading yourself to a downward emotional spiral to emo mentalities

Just because life doesn't inherently have a point does not mean you cannot create one. I see the point of life being to ensure life continues. Not just human life, but all life. It's a wonder what has happened on this planet, and we should do our best to keep it for as long as possible.

You really believe heaven exists?

FORTY-TWO

Anyone read Hitchhiker's Guide to the Galaxy?

BTW, the question to the answer of life is "What do you get if you multiply six by seven?"

When the monday did I mention angels? I usually don't do this but I will make an exception for you, you are handicapped.

And BTW you are 14, what education? Junior High Diploma?

Is that such a bad thing?

Making the assumption that there is an afterlife devalues the real life.
