recently i've noticed that alot of blockland servers host very imaginative, creative ideas that introduce new gameplay, but are executed in a very unrefined manner. alot of people say they're beta versions of the concept, or maybe they're limited by their ability to build well, but they all still end up the same way: working, fun, but incredibly hard to look at
personally i don't like how you can stifle entire ideas like that, so i founded the refinery: a clan that specializes in helping out people with ideas, but need (or want) help bringing them to fruition: i (or a representative from the clan) will join your server, experience your ideas and then build it again from the ground up, guaranteed to look better, for free. of course we may overlook your server once in a while, so if you think your idea is ground-breakingly awesome enough, be sure to post in the topic so we can take a look

anyone can take a project off our lists, and anyone can submit a completed project, and be noted as an honorary refiner. you'll have a place in the topic, be permitted to wear the clan tag around without getting your ass blacklisted from the clan and (at some point) have special access to the RefS toolkit: a handful of new, custom building add-ons that make building (and refining) easier. of course, you still have to be accepted into the clan to take all these benefits, because some people just can't be trusted with private add-ons.
as an alternate to joining by redoing a project, you may ALSO apply by refining a gallery build. be sure to post the link to your gallery build, appropriate screenshots, etcetra in your application: we're a bit more strict on freeform refinery then project-based refinery, so it'll be a bit harder to get in- we still recommend applying normally, though.
once you have been accepted into the clan, you may apply for admin. with admin comes bolded lettering in the topic, super admin on all RefS servers and of course the knowledge that you're being of use to the blockland community: however to apply in the first place, you must first complete the following
- finish, and then submit, 3 different refined projects
- get at least one refined project used by a client who actually requested help
- get nomination from at least 3 members: admins count as 2.
however, as an admin, you'll have more responsibilities and drawbacks then before. having a large presence within the clan has to come with some caveats: this is the current list of responsibilities
- admins are expected to always have the clan tag [RefS] in their server name
- admins are subject to less slack then normal clan members: 3 reports (that aren't bathed in pure stupid) from RefS servers is enough to get you deadmined
- failing to be cooperative and friendly toward players (even outside the clan) will also result in you being deadminned
please note: regardless of what you might think, to get into the clan you still have to actually be admitted in by an admin. some people just aren't welcome: you know who you are.

Hosting and Sponsoring
anyone in the clan is allowed to plaster RefS on their server title without being blacklisted from the clan: actually, it's encouraged! more advertising is always nice. but, you are also expected to give out admin and super admin properly to members and admins respectively, and generally be friendly to anyone who can think coherently. we can't blame you for chewing out around some moron, but if there's someone genuinely intelligent on the server please act friendly (or at least, neutral) towards them.
if you've had any association whatsoever with the clan, please, don't hesitate to add RefS to your server title as well: especially with servers that are using one of our builds. you do not have to of course admin people from the clan since you are technically a sponsor, not actually part of the clan at all.

A: simply refine a project from the project list. it doesn't matter which, but as long as it's submitted and in the thread, you're an honorary member

A: being in the clan long enough and being generally active will eventually get you promoted to member, with all the member benefits
Q: how do i become a client?
A: submit your idea to the clan in a post, or alternately wait for a clan member to come and scout you out.

A: alright then, starfish. if you've been scouted out by the clan but don't actually want your build refined, we'll still give the build to you: you just don't have to accept

A: ironically yes. this clan page will be redone many times in the future, but for now, this will do.
Q: why does it seem to be so easy to get blacklisted?
A: the clan's policy (as far as handling people goes) is "friendly but brutal". it's pretty hard to be friendly toward morons, so we'd rather just get rid of them
