The PC I had before this one had Windows xp and I tried to run it on 256MB of RAM. I was constantly replacing hard drives because something was making them lock on me. That's all I really remember about it since it's packed up in storage for when I feel like going office space on my current PC.

Karmic Koala is quite nice, it runs better on my ThinkPad than Windows (any version) did.
