Author Topic: Death Penalty  (Read 5812 times)

I personally support the death penalty. There's been a lot of controversy over it, but I don't see why there should be. The way I see it personally is that if you kill someone, the government should kill you. I don't mean death row, no trial unless the case is questionable, simply if they kill someone, you die. End of story. Death sentence? It's a stupid idea. What will a person learn from sitting in a loving cement room the rest of their life? If that were me I would rather kill myself and I would find someway to do it. They won't learn anything, they're going to die anyways, everyone wants the process to speed up.

What are your thoughts for it?

I agree with you, if I was in jail, I would ask to be killed. If they say no, I find a way.

I personally don't know what to make of it. If a prisoner is simply put to death for their actions, they don't have to go through the experience of living several years in prison and living every day in regret. However, if they are kept in the prison, they may simply escape. Additionally, money would need to be spent on their care.

Jail is a torture. You commit crime you go to jail. 20 years of jail you go insane. Moved to Asylum. Try to kill yourself, moved to solitary confinement. They find your dead carcass, serve it to other people who are criminally insane.

Is it not hypocrisy to kill someone for killing?

If they had enough thought for it, they wouldn't do it.

government mandated death doesn't count.
ON TOPIC: My only objection with the death penalty is that it it's costly and that it is time consuming. The actual killing of the person is very inexpensive. The trials and appeals and more appeals are the bits that make the death penalty a waste of time

I don't really get government, the world is stupid for making things so damn complicated.

Plenty of people are happy living in prison.

Also, watch The Life of David Gale. It's a very good movie, and is very relevant to this subject.

"An eye for an eye leaves the whole world blind."

the government wasn't really made for the future, more for what happened

Why is the government into "teaching a lesson"? If somebody gets killed, the killer should lose their life, not rot in jail where, as before stated, they have to be cared for (therefore costing the jail/gov't money), and they have a chance at escaping! Screw the government, I think Court should be each side gets 5 minutes to explain, then the jury votes. Boom. Done.
Ninja Edit: Yeesh, my grammar sucked right there. [\personalgrammarnational socialist]

Dap, I accuse you of murder, explain yourself in five minutes.

Dapizzanator: I didn't do it!

Wynd_Fox: I saw you...

Jury: Dapizzanator is found... yummy...

I say bring back torture, that'll teach em!

If you ask me, they should put all murderers, rapists, ect. on a random lottery death sentence. So that every morning they wake up in constant fear of the chance that they might be the next to die. The deaths would be humane, of course, but that's not what the other inmates would think as I'd be playing audio clips from several slasher flicks over the PA to terrify them. The prison edict "Thems that have heart attacks be the lucky ones!"
