Scripting in Torque looks very hard to me. There are very strange terms. But if you still wanna make add-ons I advise you get Bledner or Milkshape and team up with a scripter.

Simple scripting in Torque is easy.
If the model has no texture, to change it's color, use:
doColorShift = "R G B A";
Mess with it until you get the perfect color.
^{R = Red, G = Green, B = Blue, A = Alpha/Transparency}
