Author Topic: I am pissed about blockland and the ports using a wireless connection  (Read 938 times)

Well, i just got blockland a couple of days ago and learned i had to forward my ports in order to make an online server. My father dissaproves of me doing this so i would wish that the admins or creators of blockland were to make the online servers different. Otherwise, i want my money back.

do it in secret, your parents would never know.

Listen, ive played many other online games with this connection. Ive been able to make my own servers and have people join. Why not?

My parents have set a password for our connection, they wont tell me. Ive tried to guess it a lot.

Stop being 10 years old?
Goes in General Discussion.
Also, the reason other games will let you make servers is, they're using different coding. We use Torque.

Well, i guess i sorta wasted my money on BLOCKLAND. Wtf is the point of having it if i cant even share my stuff online?

With those games, YOU weren't the server, you were just using their server yourself.
This is how computers work, and that's how it will most likely always be.
You will also never get your money back, because Badspot stated on the website that to host servers you must forward your ports, and thus, you should have known what you were getting into.

It's not that you can't, it's that your father is a misinformed starfish.

No, we share the same connection. If some starfish hacks into my computer they can get into his. Were hacing some money troubles and he has all of his work files on there. If somebody gets in then were screwed.

Instead of telling Badspot to change his game, how about you go tell your dad he's a dumbass?

I don't know how to say this without being rude, so I'm just going to be rude.  Your dad shovels coal for a living and I am a goddamn professional computer programmer.  I know more about this subject than your dad.  Port forwarding, if done correctly, is completely safe.

Ok listen, my dad is not an starfish. Ill have to look into this with him. He doesnt shovel coal. He has a life, he strength trains people, is a nurse at a school, and owns apartments. Hes a busy man.

If port forwarding was bad, why the hell does every router have it in the first place?

Also, if you want a refund for not being able to "share your creations," you can do that without a server.
Use the gallery, go to someone else's server, etc.
