The word "Noob"...

Everyone has gone through being called a noob, whether you be young, old, lack in skill, or are the best in the game, it has happened to you. And it seems no matter what you do, some people feel like they can call you this. But it's fine right? It means "newbie" doesn't it?

Wrong.

Several days ago I was on a friend's server, he had just made a city RP and i decided to help him with it. I was building for several hours, making designs, deleteing them, making something else. A few people join the server, they start to converse with us, and the conversations tension escelates...
     "This build is pathetic, you're such a noob" "What is wrong with it?" "It's stupid" "Well that's your opinion" "no it's because you're a noob"
Now what was the point of that? Some person apparently didn't like my build and decided to call me a noob for it (Note that the actual quality of this build makes no differance in this situation). So he continued to call me a noob, my friend tried to defend me, and I discouraged it, unfortunatly the conversations tension grew...
     It ended in my friend getting mad, and kicking the person that called me a noob, now I am against this, which is why I discouraged his decision to get involved.

The word "noob" has evolved from from newbie, it's grown onto the meaning, developed, grown harsher and more severe. The word "noob" no longer means "newbie"... It means you suck. People can say this over and over giving the reason that it means that you are just a newbie, don't buy it. When people call someone something that is offensive, the person that had been called a noob feels frustrated, and they lash out at the person that called them noob, now this can just turn into a fight, and another group of people hating each other. When they feel like they are being attacked, they want to feel better than that person, and by doing this they attack other people.

As you can see, there's a chain reaction that causes a loop of hate. When these people try to feel better than each other and time passes, the superiority complex comes into play. (Read "The superiority complex...")

Post opinions on the subject, support appreciated.

I soooo totaly hate the word "noob".  And its stupid for people to call you it.   It reeally annoys me.  Just ignore them, they'll get bored and stop, its their fault they are handicapped idiots.

But I agree, An opinion is a opinion and stating a valid point that person may have not completely deserved a kick, unless they had gone about spamming their opinion wildly. Then they may have been more deserving.

Being deserving is something that dips into people not being equal, but if you believe that a person is more hateful than others, then try to help them, I'm sure they have gone through the usual endless cycle of noob arguments.

The reason they have "gone through the usual endless cycle of noob arguments" Is because they most likely brought it upon themselves.
Also I agree with Fllfgff, for reasons as such.
Your not gonna get to far going about */preaching* to people that already know exactly what you are saying.
You can't help those who don't use their brains correctly, you can only give advice and hope they follow.
But you've got a 90% chance that you get called a handicap afterwards.

But people CAN use their brains correctly, and there is no possible way you can find out what they have been through unless you try to help them, if you get called a handicap, then maybe that person needs more help than one person can offer.

The potential for good is present in all human beings, regardless of previous experiances and current situations.

2. Information.. So we could spy on communists.
3. Pride.. Whoever does it first is cooler.
4. The Benefit of human kind in all corners of the earth.

Notice number four.. This applies to

I understand what you are saying, Blockland is mostly a kids game, but this isn't about identifing the variables, this is about CHANGING them, and to let them grow a little is just letting them develope this hate.

Under all this concept lies a game.. Locked away.. Hidden in a dark cavern... a Game.. Called.. Blockland.

This game isn't locked away unless the person has no contact with anyone outside the game, which I doubt happens, but it's always a possibility.
