I played as Assault gunner / shielder, like to see you do that with the no damage from behind skill maxed out.

Magic hammer has a piercing skill, which penetrates defence and defence abilities (including phase step invinciblilty) though that's why magic hammer is so much slower than the normal hammer. Using the quick strike reduces the damage by 80%, but the piercing makes up for that.

Skills don't bypass other skills. Shield only counts as defense if you have it open btw. So it still wouldn't work.

it's pretty useful with anything close-quarters. the split-second stun is perfect timing for a shotgun blast to the face

The stun doesn't last long enough for any magic hammer attacks, however any other melee weapon will work wonderfully.

Pretty sure it's instant crit if you have ram for spear too.
