Author Topic: Blockland's Growing Population  (Read 1956 times)

I've recently been thinking about blockland's growing number of players and thought: Will there ever be so many players and/or servers on blockland that the master server cannot support them?  Will Badspot just continue to expand it, or will he just stop selling keys at a certain point?  All these questions are interesting because if you think about it, we pay a one time payment.  If many people continue playing blockland while more come each day, will Badspot ever reach a point where it becomes more expensive to support them all compared to how much he makes from newcomers?  Anyways, this may just be a question for Badspot himself to answer, but meanwhile I'd like to hear what you guys think.

Badspot will keep selling keys till he's richer than Bill Gates. Or when he dies.

Not everyone pays once. *Looks at zoneark, Bisjac, and Robo Noob*

I don't ever think Blockland's inflow of new members will slow or cease; it's actually increasing. I don't think we have to worry about "Everyone bought it and there are no more customers!" because TF2 still makes money and way more people have it than us.

I don't know about the Master Server's limitations, but I assume if it ever comes to the point where he needs an upgrade, people will have been buying the game faster for him to be able to support it.

Won't be happening any time soon. Why worry about it?

Badspot currently makes around forty to fifty thousand dollars a year solely off of being an indie developer for Blockland. I think that hes going to keep selling and working on Blockland until he stops making a profit worth all of the effort. I am really wondering what hes going to work on next ;o

What if Badspot shut down the master server for a day, and then the next day spammed the forums with "i trol u <coolface>"?

No

That wasn't a yes or no question.

That wasn't even a question.

OK, this is just dumb now.
