I got a virus just yesterday, no idea how, I installed AVG, I rebooted, I broke it all, I reformated, all done in one hour.

If I had to reformat I'd cut myself.

I had 400gb worth of games there :(
Now they're gone :'(
I don't hurt myself though so I wouldn't cut myself :>

LOL, what are you talking about?! I assume that this is just your household private network, so it makes no sense at all for someone to preform a DoS attack on you. DoS and a DDos attacks are pretty much only used on servers connected to larger networks to bring them to their knees, they arent viruses.

Nobody is going to target your home network for a DoS attack. They're totally random - they just DoS random IPs. Furthermore, the police are going to do absolutely nothing with an IP you give them when no damage has been done. My router has DoS attacks in the logs all the time, it's nothing that requires any action.

I got a USB virus off the school computers.

AVG caught it, I've since turned off autorun (I thought I turned it off already but it turns out I did it wrong).

I went ahead and installed a virus scanner in linux as well since that's what I'm running 3/4 of the time and it makes sense to scan my flash drive in it. Turns out AVG has a debian package.

Ephialtes is right about DoS attacks, although I know someone who DoS'd people over xbox live to force them to drop from halo matches.

The cops really don't care though.

I traced the IP of the people who attempted to sap my laptop. Four of them came from an internet cafe in Beijing.

I would think so too.

Unless you held the cure for cancer, AIDS, and all diseases on your computer and they screwed it up they wouldn't care.

Or a recipe for doughnuts :P

i got a trojon from the burnout paradise demo so i put in the AVG vault FOREVA
