Author Topic: Where would your 'Alamo' be in a zombie outbreak?  (Read 6384 times)

Well before I go on feel free to say where you would go and why.

For me i would go for a Wal-Mart, why you might ask? Wal-Mart has a mixture of tons of things from food to items. Here would be some usefull things they would have that would help out:
Generater- A big thing you would need is power and what better way to get it but a generator
Food- The store is half grocery store so You would last at least a month off of the supplies in the store alone.
Entertainment- Now some people might think why entertainment, if your in a group you will need something to take your mind off of the hell your currently in.
Medical supplies- If someone has some injury or gets sick (besides from a zombie)
Weapons- From melee (lawn mowers, shears, knives) To ranged (bows and guns) there are all kinds of weapons in a Wal-Mart.
The little things- From coffee to soda and beer that makes your day just that bit better Wal-Mart will have that too.
Terrain- From inside the store there is lots of shelves and a high roof, this means you could get on top of shelves for a clear overview and be somewhat protected from zombies below.
Vehicles-There is normally quite a few vehicles at a Wal-Mart, ranging from forklifts to trucks to cars. These would work if you needed to get out of there fast or place to keep the zombies back

I'd go to my local home depot, it has tons of hardware plus the members section is full of food and water. As soon as i can though i'd head for the Costco near me. It has several years worth of food and supplies and is easily defendable considering there are about 4 entrances counting the loading areas. And it has a firearms section.

Yea I like that walmart his all together so I only need to defent one building, plus where I live there is a Sams club (which is like a walmart but sells in bulk. So that would be even more food to live off of, i think the issue for me with walmart is even though i liveright next to it walmart is popular meaning more people. And more people=more zombies so it would be hard to cear but in the end worth it.

Grocery stores are bad for zombie outbreaks, too many weak walls and entrances. Plus, it's too big and you could have several zombies pouring in without knowing until you're totally surrounded.

I would go to a school, actually.

Food from the Teacher's Lounge and cafeteria, Entertainment from movies they keep to play on free days, Medical supplies from nurse's office, Weapons like a bat from Gym, Terrain is good, because it's standard for schools to have few entrances and brick walls with hard to get down doors, no vehicles.

Also shelves would get knocked down FAST by zombies.

I think the issue with a school is that most of the time you would be going for CQB which would work out a lot better for the zombies than it would for survivors. Plus I don't know how long you would last off the food that would have in the cafeteria or how long the food would last. Than again I could see how it would work out better than a store with so many entrances.

Zombies only want brains so they can think, and be cured.
And I would actually hide in my house, near endless-seeming supply of water. And electricity so I can play a Zombie apocalypse while I'm IN a zombie apocalypse!
But first, there would have to be guns.
which there are NONE.
Not a single one.

In a boat in the middle of the ocean, my a friend. Zombies can't swim very well. And I can use my friend as food.

Tank + Wal-Mart = You're screwed, bro.

Unless, of course, this isn't an L4D-esque zombie outbreak.

Trolling much? In a zombie apocalypse the grid would most certainly be shut down meaning no water and no electricity.

I was kida thinking this one too. I think an oil rig would have someone set since it has a stuffload of oil used for all your energy needs. And no zombies can get there, purifier for water and an endless supply of fish.

Yea i wasn't talking about l4d with all the ranom AK 47's and M16's lying around all over the place.

What? No, they want brains because they are loving zombies and that's what they do. Go away.

Why do these threads about what you would do in a zombie apocalypse keep cropping up? There's a reason that they make an asston of video games about zombie apocalypses: It's never going to happen, so enjoy L4D.

I know there never will be a zombie apocalypse however it's still fun planning out how you would survive it.

Fixed.

I know there is some parasite out there that can infect Humans, and the only way it can multiply is by infecting others through the host. But a scientist explained in perfect detail how a zombie type virus exists, and what its effects are. I don't remember but I think it goes something like this. The frontal lobe of the brain deteriorates to the point where the victim does not know how to open a window, but instead to break through it. The rest is where they attack Humans, animals, and anything that they can use to spread the virus.

As far as I know, 28 days later is the closest to the real thing.
