Author Topic: Totalable Cars?  (Read 1296 times)

I think that, instead of the car blowing up, then exploding after 5 seconds, That the car blows up and loses its wheels. The car can still be tossed around while totaled, but when it is shot more, then the totaled car blows up.

This sounds neat, but it seems like a waste of datablocks too :l

Mabey it is possible. I will go see.

not really a waste of datablocks, it would probably take the same amount as a normal car: just, it looses the wheels after getting shot enough

Interesting, I'll look into it.

Maybe as a script, like /totalable

wait what is this? totaled? what game?

Sounds like Burnout with the Crash mode. The car tumbles over and over till its fully stopped.

All this needs is to remove the final explosion. A vehicle blows up like so:

 - Damage taken exceeds max damage
 - Initial explosion (with wheel debris) + fire
 - Wheels set to empty tire datablock
 - A few seconds later, a final explosion which creates a vehicle debris datablock and removes the physical vehicle

You just need to remove the final step and you'll be left with a burning vehicle with no wheels.

Nice. do want. I also want, however, car parts to fly everywher like bricks exploded by a rocketL.

Totaled means the car is busted beyond driving.

How exactly would this be done?

I don't see much use, though it would be cool. In Halo, the blown up warthogs can be shot by a tank and they would fly and spin and crash on people and such. Torque vehicles seem to always want to stay right side up and never want to move.

It could be done with current Blockland, someone would just need to make it.

If you reduce or remove the righting force they won't automatically rebalance but might tip over while driving too...
