So if I buy Borderlands, for the PC, on a disk, can I use steam to play it?

I bought it on a disk to avoid having to download it off steam, which would take a while considering my internet, and I want to know if the disk lets me play on steam.

You could install it into the steamapps\common and once you buy it it should find the files.
I don't know if it'll work, though.
