Faith is defined as a belief that is not based on proof. Science is based on evidence.
I believe the facts that support science because there are facts that support science. I don't take science on faith, but on veritable evidence. Religion on the other hand, is based on pure faith in the supernatural. To assume I have faith that science will find a place for me in the world is completely out of line. Science doesn't determine our roles in the advancement of our civilization, we determine the path of advancement for science.
When a theory is proven incorrect, we learn as much as if it was proven true, perhaps more. When religion is proven false, the person is called a heretic and/or ignored. Religious faith is not corrected, it cannot be. The written word of religion is corrected based on the way the world evolves. When a scientific theory is proven false, it is a not a belief of mine that changes, but my understanding of the way the world operates.
As far as Religious faith not having credible evidence....We've cloned sheep. We've created a life purely out of science. We know how to manipulate the genome and DNA to make all new breeds of animals and plants (Glow in the dark tomatoes anyone?) These things didn't simply evolve. We created them out of nothing. Creationism is a very real thing and science is growing ever closer in proving this the more we understand about it. Science will eventually prove how anything in the Bible can and will be real.
Looks like you need to read a bit more pal. Creationism refers to the belief that everything was created by a supernatural being. You just said that we created them, which is not an example of Creationism. As for them not evolving, you couldn't be more wrong. Science has taken DNA and manipulated it, because it has evolved to that point.
Now what you said was pretty damn stupid. If we hadn't studied the sheep, we couldn't just make one with a wave of our hand. We can create the sheep because we have studied it's DNA and developed, through science, a method of replicating it. If we had done so a few hundred years ago, we would have had different DNA and a different result, because the sheep was at a different stage of it's evolution.
Chris Angel can walk on water. So could Jesus. Coincidence? Are either of them a "son of God" to God, we are all his children, so yes.
Parlor tricks, not science. Good example. If you read any of my posts, I enjoy it when people disagree with me. Keep arguing.
