Not very well.

Name a Nvidia graphics card that won't be outdated by the end of 2010.

lol no

one GTS250 OC beats the stuff out of SLI'd 9800.
Besides, lots of games like WoW don't support SLI.
Not if you get the BFG 9800 GT 1 gb.
I am able to max GTA 4 and still have around 20-30 FPS.
Personally I think 9800 is probably one of the best Nvidia cards.

Also, who plays WoW anymore thats so 2007-2008.

The HD 5870 is currently the best GPU on the market.  Some will lie to you and say the 5970 is better, but it has terrible driver support which doesn't allow it to maximize it's potential.  Any Nvidia card you get will be outdated as soon as the 300 series comes out.

Pandan is a dumbass Nvidia fanboy, who doesn't know that WoW supports SLI but just doesn't really utilize it.  Godik and Riot are living in the past with their stupid 9800's, which are already outdated.

It's actually one of the best on the market, the 8 series aren't even outdated.
Outdated is something that cant run new games, however the 9 series can run the newest games perfectly fine.

Whatever you're spewing is worse than stuff itself.

Pandan, you're an nvidia fanboy. Shut the forget up.
Nvidia is going nowhere atm, ATi is the way to go.
But I'll wait for Nvidias 300 series.

Well, I need a new graphics card, because the 9600 GT is becoming outdated.

Has to be <500$

Nvidia, ATI, I don't care, just as long as it will be good near the end of 2010.

Get an ATI Radeon HD 5870.  Or spend $100 more for twice the power at get a 5970, but under $500, your best bet is to get a 5870.

Zaran, ATI just released Catalyst 9.12, which SIGNIFICANTLY IMPROVES the driver support for the 5970.  You are simply wrong in all regards.

The nVidia 310 came out last month so, the rest of the 300 series should be available in a few months, I'd just wait until they come out and then choose between one of those or an ATI card.

my pc has a chip set. So i can't even play tf2 without epic fail framerate :c

edit: maybe you guys can help me out.
I had a geforce fx 5200 in my old computer, and tf2 lagged, but that was because of RAM and processor. Now I get my new computer, but it has a chipset (intel gma 3100). TF2 graphics look better, and i would get no lag on an empty server, but any amount of sparks, debris, fire, explosions, buildings, etc. would drop my frame rate. So first, is it easy to replace a chipset with a my geforce card, and 2nd, would the graphics go back to sucky graphics but play fine?

Dedit: one more thing graphics related, i have fog in every map, and its really hard to snipe when you cant see far away :c

I reccomend that you should get ATI.

Bullstuff.  The 8 and 9 series are complete wastes of money.  The 200 (Nvidia) and 4800 (ATI) series of cards are cheap and give an enormous step up over their predecessors.  Stop wasting the OP's time.

Duckmeister, did you get your 5970?  I would be really interested in some personal benchmarks.  As for me being wrong in all regards, I'm not a Creationist that believes modern science is a conspiracy.

should snot get nvidia gt 210 :D

Im not really into the ATI because i kept getting graphic errors after 3 new cards.
