Author Topic: Game Runs Slower in Multiplayer than in Single Player  (Read 3018 times)

If I load the afghan dm in single player mode I can easily be getting about 80-100 FPS, but if I go to a multiplayer server that has the afghan DM loaded I'll be getting about 5-8 FPS.
Why the hell does it lag so much? If I can get this fixed that would be great.

PC Specs:

Intel Pentium 4 Processor 2 CPUS @ 3.2 GHZ.
ATI Radeon HD3650 AGP - DirectX 10.1

Take your stuff elsewhere, and I've already tried reducing the settings.

Only post if it will be helpful.

No don't get a mac. The problem is that your computer is not that powerful.

It might be your CPU, because its probably only a single core, but your operating system reports it as a dual core because it can process 2 threads. I have a computer with a Pentium 4 processor that has Hyper threading, and the operating system reports it as having 2 cores, even though it only has 1. I would say that your processor is not good enough to handle the extra load that playing multiplayer puts on it.

Rendering other players?

Rendering other players?

Rendering about 20 players puts a grand load on my PC?

I know my processor isn't that powerful but it should be able to render just 20 more players.

Plus, I've gone to a completely empty server, with 20,000 bricks and it still lags just as much.

Double-post: Also I can run TF2 at about 30-50 FPS in multiplayer, so why can't I run Blockland which has a lot of less verts?

Maybe your internet connection is bad?

A list of add-ons you were using before would be quite helpful.  I really don't want performance destroying add-ons like that to exist.
