First of all, I spend 7 - 8 hours a day in a school full of 500 kids. I am forced to work with my peers, while you can work alone with minimal social interactions. While you may be able to travel around, other children who are home schooled may not be as wealthy as you (Probably the reason they are home schooled). We who go to public school have things such as due-dates for assignments, period/ class switches, teach us how to be organized. When you are home schooled you will always have your teacher there, while our teachers have to tend to 20 - 30 kids and make sure all of them know what they are doing. I have to make sure I understand what I am doing.
I will judge whoever I want. You can't do anything about it, I will not do any homeschooling because I would not want to waste my time.
I'd like to mention that while my parents buy my books, I spend most of my time teaching myself. My mom's got her hands full with my youngest brother, so getting an education is my own responsibility.
Also, that "learning organization" thing is crap. It truly is. I've been homeschooled all my life, and when I went to camp last summer, I walked around with my peers throughout the college campus in which we were staying in order for us to get from class to class. Whoever needs to be
taught how to do that will find school difficult, homeschooled or not.
I will agree with you over one point, though. Being homeschooled deprives you of social interaction. However, it doesn't render one socially incapable. I went to a high school party and ended up meeting almost every single person in the room; having, at minimum, a small conversation with each.
In the end, I don't care whether someone is homeschooled or schooled by the government. However, I despise comments about one's schooling system being superior to another.
