anyways, new gun (again)

i'm sure in about 20-30 years, the modernized versions of qwepir's guns would be basic run-of-the-mill weaponry.

Federation and Imperial arsenals, now with flavor text! Also, all the number-letter combos actually mean something. See if you can figure them out.

Federation:

SEC-12 Eagle Tactical Pistol
This is the sturdy standard issue sidearm issued to nearly all Federation military personnel. It can melt through duravlar armor vests at 25m, and is lethal at up to 60.

SEC-8 Raven Holdout Blaster
More commonly issued to personnel that do not see direct combat, this miniaturized pistol is a handy defense for a downed pilot or stranded tank crew. It doesn't have the entry, range, or ammo capacity of the Eagle, but it can be hidden much easier.

SEC-20 Sparrow Machine Pistol
Horribly inaccurate at long range, but it packs an amazing punch up close. Lighter than the Lancer, and quieter too, commandos usually tend to lean towards the Sparrow for stealth missions.

MFC-25 Vindicator DMR
The Vindicator is a semi-automatic laser rifle that is given to the squad's designated marksman to provide precision support in a firefight. On a maximum charge, depleting an entire MicroFusion Cell in one shot, it can even bore through the outer hydralex armor plating of Imperial Phalanx APCs. However, despite its' awesome ranged power, this is not a sniper rifle, and should not be used as such.

ECP-40 Avenger Carbine
Avengers are one of the most commonly produced weapons in the Federation, second only to the Eagle. It is the bread and butter assault rifle of the standard infantryman. Since it is a laser, it has no recoil. Allowing it to be accurate well past 70 meters. However, firing around 6 shots in a row on full auto will cause the focusing crystal to overheat and swell, creating some nasty spread. Also, firing on full auto depletes the Electron Charge Pack incredibly quickly.

ECP-25 Venerator SMG
A step up from the Freedom in terms of damage and accuracy, but still doesn't have the capacity of the Avenger, the Venerator is for Federation guardsmen who don't necessarily need to go on the offense.

ECP-30 Freedom PDW
Issued in engineers and light recon kits, the Freedom PDW is essentially a smaller version of the Avenger, although the focusing crystals seem to overheat quicker than their heavier brothers, after only about three shots. For that reason, it is either kept on burst-fire, or used in close quarters only.

9MM-25 Lancer SMG
One of the only slugthrowers in the Federation arsenal, the Lancer is a 9mm Submachine gun for use in close quarters. It is mostly issued to commandos and tankbusters to give them some lightweight anti-infantry protection.

MFC-4 Liberator Sniper Rifle
Lasers have a major advantage over bullets when it comes to sniper rifles. There is no projectile, the laser travels at light speed, and is always perfectly accurate. On top of this, when enough power is supplied to the photon resonance chamber, you have an armor and flesh piercing nightmare that always goes exactly where you point it. The only limit on range is the scope.

MFC-8 Liberty Shotgun
Utilizing a special focusing crystal, this weapon is able to fire nine lasers in a 3x3 box shape. Granted, each shot is less focused than a single shooting weapon, but up close it can turn medium armor to slag, and outright vaporise lightly armored soldiers. The beams begin to lose focus after about 100 meters though.

Empire:

Pugio-L LG1-10 Pistol
Issued to all general infantry within the Empire. It performs on par with the Federation's Eagle pistol.

Pugio-R RG1-5s pistol
Designed by the same group that made the popular Pugio-L Laser pistol, the Pugio-R is a ray gun pistol, utilizing similar technology as those in the Gladius and Pilum-R rifles.

Arcus GG3-4/8 pistol
An incredibly heavy pistol, this fires superdense metal slugs at an incredibly high velocity by using electromagnets. A fully charged MicroFusion Cell can provide power for four shots, while the slug magazine provides eight rounds. It is popular with Centurions for the sheer power behind it.

Spatha LS1-20 Machine Pistol
Soldiers in the Imperium are given more freedom of choice with their equipment than in the Federation. Legionaries get to pick which assault rifle they would like to use for any particular engagement, and can swap them out for another during a lull in the fighting. But the Saggitarii get to choose nearly every aspect of their equipment, down to their rifles and sidearms and the attachments on both. The Spatha is a machine pistol that gives the Sagitarii protection from enemies that evade their long range rifles, and is often chosen over the Pugio for its' higher rate of fire.

Plumbata BP10-20 SMG
A silenced 10mm Submachine gun given to commandos for covert ops.

Lancea LV2-40 SMG
This pseudo-assault rifle is standard issue for Velites light infantry, as well as vehicle crews and scouts during urban warfare campaigns. The Empire's higher-end focusing arrays use a quadrithium crystal instead of the dilithium crystals used in Federation laser weaponry, allowing for a more accurate weapon with a higher rate of fire.

Gladius RL2-20s Rifle
This assault rifle projects concentrated techlon rays in an invisible beam. This causes debilitating pain to unarmored flesh, followed by death. The only way to tell if this weapon is firing is by the coils lighting up and emitting a high-pitched whine. All Legionaries are given the choice between a Gladius and Hasta assault rifle, although each 8-man squad must have at least 3 of each. A standard MicroFusion Cell can sustain the beam for 20 seconds before it cuts the power to the ray materalization chamber and must be reloaded or recharged.

Hasta LL2-30 Rifle
The other Legionary assault weapon, the Hasta is accurate to a longer range and is far more lethal than its' Federation counterpart, the Avenger.

Mainz BL7.62-8 Rifle
The Mainz is a bullet-shooting rifle chambered for the powerful 7.62x39mm cartridge. It entered service around 2135 as a midrange battle rifle for use by Legionary marksmen. What with bullets being so expensive, these weapons are not very common.

Fullham GL3-5/15 Rifle
Fullhams are a very recent addition to the Imperial armory, being used first at the battle of Verdun in 2144. It is a mid-long range gauss battle rifle, capable of puncturing medium and heavy infantry armor with ease.

Pilum-R RS3-5s Rifle
Issued to Imperial Sagittarii, this sniper weapon isn't actually a laser, but emits techlon rays in a focused beam. The weapon is silent, and it can kill any unarmored target incredibly quickly. However, its' damage goes down exponentially if the enemy is armored, so the user is trained to find any unarmored part of the body to maximize effectiveness.

Pilum GS3-1/2 Anti-Vehicle Rifle
Another weapon for the Sagittarii, this is not a Laser either. The way this weapon works is it uses electromagnetic coils lining the barrel to propel a small C-12 explosive charge at relativistic speed. An entire MicroFusion Cell is needed to power the coils for a single shot, so accuracy is vital. But if and when the slug hits its' target, it will almost certainly be destroyed. As appealing as it sounds, this is not to be used against light infantry. The round will just pass right through the soft flesh and go out the other side without detonating.

Scorpio LS3-8 Sniper Rifle
The third and final primary weapon of the Imperial Saggitarii, this is their only laser sniper. While the Pilum's gauss and ray configurations are excellent for attacking heavy and unarmored targets, respectively, they are ineffective against medium armored targets. The Scorpio is sort of a "jack of all trades, master of none", allowing the Saggitarii using it to engage almost any enemy from a safe distance, though it doesn't perform as well against heavy armor.

You know that none of your entries are being entered because it's past the entry deadline, and on top of that you can only have two and on top of THAT, they wouldn't stand a chance?
