Author Topic: Stop picking on new people.  (Read 2998 times)

its not right because everyone was new like them maybe yeah you earned bragging rights by making some nice mods but give them a chance at making some good stuff too even if there first one isnt good

Its not that we don't like new people. Its just we don't like new people spamming the forums with "HOW DO I MAKE ADDON PLEASE HALP" threads.

Its fun to pick on new people their usualy trolls.

So stop picking on new guys, yes I know they might be a nusience to you but give them a chance to get used to the forums. I'm tired of people saying "Learn2Spell" and all that other stuff.
Spelling has nothing to do with being new, and if the person is failing to type their primary language... it is definitely not their time to learn a new one.

Also, we are not teachers. People shouldn't expect to learn a skill taught in schools (aside from torquescript, which comes naturally once you've learned other languages) from random people over the internet.

I think the problem is most people that ask how to make add-ons are expecting the answer: "step 1. type into a notepad: make addon, step 2: save it, step 3: YOU MADE ADDON." the best people can do is tell people what has been said in 100 of threads that they should have searched: open scripts, read them, tweak them, use the dump command, packaging tutorial, do that for months.

When they ask certain things that could be figured out themselves, then it's irritating. I help them, but once they ask a question for every little thing, it's just stupid.

In addition to what Visage said, it takes months of learning, rather than a day. The people asking for help often cannot wait more than a week to learn.

Even after those months of learning, there's still the years it takes to become an expert.

The goodknight :D

Maybe we should hep them however at the expense of watching the forums fill up with crap.

I've recently seen people asking how to make add-ons, and instead of actully HELPING them most of you pick on the people and use all your sarcasim and all your insults to make a hard life for them. It's not cool. If they are asking how to make add-ons, there not doing it to piss you off, they simply want to make add-ons for Blockland.

So stop picking on new guys, yes I know they might be a nusience to you but give them a chance to get used to the forums. I'm tired of people saying "Learn2Spell" and all that other stuff.

First off, itd be pretty sad if someones life was made hard by a sly remark on an online forum. Second, its been said countless times that its impossible to describe how to make an add-on. These ppl snap at them only because theyv been asked so many times.

So stop filling these threads with stuff.

They most like'ly Don't know how to Script with Blockland or get any wear with a Modleing Program. Exsaple "Blender,Anim8tor" or they could be a addon god
just waiting for a tool

hehe that was the shortest rage-quiting time i've seen

If I joined a game and decided to try to make content for it I would look at the guides they posted on how to. These idiots just decide to ask without even looking in the modification board.

I agree. Don't pick on new people. There just trying to fit into the forum. If you have ever picked on a new guy head to this link: http://tinyurl.com/ygrggpl

Dont pick on new people, pick on new cigarettes.

Why were people nice to me then?
