Looks like a yellow magic marker ran over something black. Doesn't really look gold.

To elaborate,make it fade to a darker yellow or orange instead of black.

Also I used a dark orange/yellow instead of black:

That looks a lot better. Also, if I could make one more suggestion, make the transition wider, instead of so sudden.
