I got it for PC, a very very long time ago. In answer to your question it'd be just like the PC version but without updates/large amounts of players on 1 server.

No. No achievements for TF2, no hats, no unlockables, etc. etc.
I actually like HL2 more on the PS3 than the PC :o

Get the xbox 360 version if you must get it on the consoles. They at least have a chance of updates, some article stated that updates were likely never to come to the ps3.

hl2 is just as fun on console, but stuffty graphics on 1080p

and i would never in a million years recommend tf2 without a pc...

i think once valve update the engi they should re release tf2 on a seperate disc with all the class updates

You're better off getting The Orange Box for the Xbox 360 if not the PC, cause excluding HL2 and Portal, Team Fortress 2 on the PS3 rarely gets updates and it probably doesn't have many players

Yeah I checked like a month ago what had been going on in TF2. Turns out there were no servers up. Get a different version

Most definitely. Vanilla TF2 isn't very fun, you can't customize your unlocks with the situation you're in. :(
