He dies in a cutscene that takes place years and years into the future. Bioshock 2 is only 10 years after the first one takes place.

Bioshock really confuses me. Didn't you kill Andrew Ryan in the first one? I'm pretty sure you do, I gotta play the first one again because I kind of forgot how the plot went. So, if it takes 10 years after the first one, then Rapture was still falling apart? In the first scene it showed Rapture more civilized in a way. Gragh, this is really making no sense to me :S

No, remember, Delta is the first successful Big Daddy. The beginning of the GAME starts 10 years after BioShock 1. This is the point when you wake up without a little sister in a puddle of water. The beginning CUTSCENE starts before that at an undetermined time, before Rapture had completely fallen.

In the first one you kill Atlas/Fontaine and Andrew Ryan, who were in a sort of war two years before Jack arrived. Multiplayer takes place in that time period.
