You have the concept all wrong. You can't go back before time machines were invented, and you can't go back before you were born. You'd need something like Ignatz's Rock and a MASSIVE, handheld power source to even UNLOCK the possibility. OPENING the unlocked door takes MUCH more.
Edit: One more thing, you can't take or leave anything.
Edit2: Thanks to Legend's post below, I remembered if you were to go back 5 seconds, you would be endlessly duplicating yourself every 5 seconds.(But not duplicating the machine)

I think the Doc can argue against that load of nonsense you spouted. He makes models granted not exactly to scale and sometimes not even painted. He'll ask you to excuse him for the crudity and all that, but he can explain time travel perfectly.
