A new PS3 you say?
Try maybe Little Big Planet. Theres always new levels and maybe play with a couple friends because theres a lot of 8 year olds who think there amazing because they can get online.

Get Modern Warfare 2 or Killzone 2. Both are extremely addictive and have something interesting to offer. MW2 has a short campaign and will only take the average player to complete in less than a day, but the Multilayer componet was their big focus. Killzone 2 has a much longer Campaign and some DLC for online play and is class based. Most of the time you can just play with your own rank so no body has all the classes and kicking your ass left, right and center. I wish i still could... I'm top rank.

If you want a long story and appealing Visuals get a HDMI cable and play Uncharted 2. It freaking blew my mind by how amazing it looked, played and how it actually felt like a movie. The game plays well and the online play is tricky to get used to right away, unless you've played some sort of 3rd person game like Metal gear solid.

I suggest trying these ones first before you go and buy some games that way you know what you like and what to expect and look forward to on the PS3.

Destroy it. NOW.

Torch it, stamp on it.

Nuke it if possible.
Shut the forget up and go take your fanboy-ism elsewhere.

It drowned in bad titles.  Of course, something may bubble up eventually.

at least stuffty exclusives are better than no gaems at all

I'd rather have no gaems then stuffty exclusives that ruin my console's reputation.

Uncharted 2, little big planet, god of war, msg 4, MAG, infamous. In my opinion, ps3 is the best bet for single player fames, while xbox is where you go for online.
