Author Topic: What do I do now?  (Read 3570 times)

discrimination is plentiful in this forum
It really is. It's a pity.

I'm surprised how well this thread is going, very serious indeed :o But you know if somebody less known posted something like this, a lot of people would flame it with the Rule #5 Flamethrower.
It's probably because rug bsjic and Inverted haven't posted in it :P

Yah, I might see if game stop or this store of the like has a spot open.
Capital thinking, and part of what I was aiming for. A job, working with things you like, and one that will expose you to people of a similar mindset. You won't be faced by anyone too far out of your circle of interests.
If you need help with a CV, etc, just ask.

In the meantime, onto a section of image:
Obesity is a general term. It's thrown around like custard pies in a food fight. Anywho, ignore that for now. You can improve your image by miles without getting onto that topic. Dealing with hygiene is a good place to start. Feeling clean is nice, and it is good for the mind, and it is very easy to forget.
Did you shave? I suggest it daily. A clean look does wonders. Make sure you don't cut yourself, or its likely that your razor is blunt, or you need better cream.
I also recommend drinking lots of water, and washing your face (yes, I am sure you do wash, but focusing on an area is different, just use a gentle soap, and pay attention to your face. Do it daily, to remove oils and clean the pores, which gets rid of to that slightly not-quite-grimy look that teenagers have). Thw water drinking is important. It (and yes, you've heard this before) comprises you, and also is very important in terms of waste management for your body. Your body can get rid of toxins and whatnot far easier if it has fluids to dispose of it in.

Finally, look at your wardrobe. What do you wear?

Drink your problems away
Go outside, its nice
Guitar=Happy. Write a song, play it on a street corner, get money, get robed, meet hot girl, date hot girl, fight with hot girl, have make up love, marry hot girl, have a kid.

This will make happy Valen

Video game t shirts
I do hope you read and acknowledged all that. It is as important as the bits I start and end all my posts with. If you want to change, you have to work on things as a whole.

Does the way you dress make you happy?
What do you wear if you were going somewhere for a lunch, or something? What do you consider your more elegant clothes? Do you have clothes of a higher standard? Are you comfortable in them?
I am aware of the teenage habit of people wearing t-shirts and shorts everywhere, but it really doesn't look that bad to get a pair of well-fitted jeans, with a shirt that compliments you, rather than the shapeless mass that t-shirts create on bodies.

-snip-
You could have been a nice person before that. E-snake is really not that important when you detach yourself from that box you call a monitor and leave your home.

I have a few collared shirts to wear out.

Well, experiment. I am no fashion guru, so I cannot counsel you in specifics, regarding color and shape/cut, but I do recommend wearing more expensive clothes more often (Men have it good. Women's fashion costs many, many times what you'll ever have to pay for something to wear.). Try going to a men's clothes shop (not suits, but a casual shop that sells collared shirts and daywear. (slacks, jeans and stuff, you know.)). Go with the intention of buying one, or perhaps several bits of clothing, and get someone to help you. Make sure they know what they are talking about (you can usually tell. Don't let them push you around), and listen so you can do the same for yourself in other stores. Consider matching you, what you are wearing and your wardrobe. Dress snappy.

Also, while we're talking about things, lets sideline for a bit. Look around your room, especially your desk and work areas and look at what makes you smile, and what doesn't. If there are papers, or enough papers to make it cluttered, then there should already be somewhere they belong, so this isn't hard, but look at what you keep permanently rooted to your desk, also, and see what you'd like to change, remove, and, eventually, consider adding. I skirt around adding, because it is controversial. Adding things you like to an area for the sake of it must be balanced with design, taste and space requirements. Because you can function in an area doesn't mean it promotes creative thought, so have a go at that.

Also, I have to sleep now. its 1am. Do reply, and i'll get back to it ASAP. I added the bit about your immediate space (desk) so you can have something to consider immediately. I understand that clothes may not be an option, give time/other constraints.
Anywho, stay well in the meantime.

Also, when you're next on, list how you eat a bit. When people eat unhealthy foods consistently, its been shown that they suffer from mood swings all the way to outright depression, so lets take a look at what you consume.

Hey now, I resent that. lol I was going to say that up until a couple of years ago, I was just like that. It took a book by a guy named Joel Osteen to knock my brain back into the more positive side of life that I'm in now. It really helped and changed my life. But I suppose you expect e to be a douche so here ya go.....your feet smell.

Happy now?  :cookieMonster:

Sometimes its hard to change yourself, by yourself. Having a person look at your situation objectively can help, which is why we have psychologists. Self-help books do rely on a having a degree of objectivity, and being able to take an independent look at yourself. It can be tricky.
