At this point I'm sure it's impossible to make bricks cast real, dynamic, pixel per pixel shadows, but how about a pseudo shadow system?

If I put a brick over another brick, depending on the elevation and azimuth of the sun in the map,

kjsfklsjfglkdgWhy are shadows impossible with the Torque engine? Why isn't there a pseudo shadow system that can work, even if the shadows are fake and blocky? Damn, I cannot explain anything, so I guess shadows in Blockland will never happen, and one wall on the inside of my house will still be really bright, while the opposite wall is really dark.
Can't there just be a simple calculation that takes in the sun's elevation, azimuth, height of a brick above something else, and just cover the area between the brick and the plate with a dark "filter" to make it look like I shadow? Rough dynamic shadows are possible in Minecraft (a
Java program), so why not Torque?

The shadows would look like this. Not perfect, aligning to the brick grid. I'm sure these kind of fake shadows could be possible in some way.
