Games / Re: Space Station 13 Megathread: A POLL
« on: August 06, 2014, 03:40:45 AM »
Where's Urist McStation on that poll? It's a medium-RP server that uses Baycode with some features lifted from /tg/ and /vg/ along with some original stuff thrown in. I'm an admin there.

The server itself peaks at around twenty-five people and averages 15-20 most of the time. A good number of the players come from the Bay 12 forums - where the server was founded - but it's been open to the public for a good while now so we have a solid group of players from other servers.

The power of the comma.

Also, rampant faction wars with mercenaries being hired to level the playing field. This is EVE stuff right here.

Why do people have these goofy hull mounted guns on big ships?
Style, and solid protection for any massive guns you may put inside. I prefer spinal weapons, probably because I never built ships on that scale when I played.

Wow, stuff, 11191 pages. Good to see this thread is still standing since the last time I actually checked the forums.

Stop walking into anomalies. When you get close to them, you should have some kind of visual effect/be able to see them/hear a geiger counter ticking.

Favorite: The social insects. (ants/bees/termites)
Least favorite: Technically not insects but included for the reason Sir Dooble mentioned, centipedes.

I would like to be re-entered.
I support this.

So I'm in an interesting position. I can't grasp anything anymore due to permanent nerve damage. Should I give up?
Either become a legendary kicker and make the world kneel to your iron boot of death and destruction or give up now. Biting is also pretty awesome. I don't think you need graspers to throw, either, and pebbles can shatter skulls if you're very skilled.

Also, I had to kill 3 separate vampires and had to drink every last drop before I become one too. I also had minimum disease resistance.
Drinking only once makes you become a vampire, but the game never gives you confirmation and you can only be sure when the red "thirsty" text shows up saying you need blood.

How do you get turned into a vampire? Just by having one fight you?
Drinking a vampire's blood. This is usually easy enough as stabbing one and licking the blood off your sword.

Being a vampire is wonderful. You don't need to eat, drink (normal fluids, anyway), or sleep, and zombies totally ignore you. If you wanted, you could stroll through an entire necromancer's tower unmolested and stab the necromancer in the face. When you become a vampire, some of your physical stats are doubled. On top of that, you don't feel pain, don't suffer exertion, don't need to breathe... You're effectively a living god of combat.

There's a couple issues, though. Vampires need to drink blood from living, unconscious opponents, which can be hard to come by without turning an entire civilization against you when they wake up. After your physical stats double, they also lock so you can't improve them further. Even with these problems, being a vampire is awesome.

Thanks for creating this wonderful topic, it's not like everyone in the SS13 thread didn't know about baystation or anything
This isn't Baystation, this is a second server using /tg/ code and rules run by different people.

if only i understood how to play this
Good luck learning! This game actually isn't too hard when you know it, it just has an impenetrable interface and is incredibly complex. When you master this game, the world is your bitch and you can learn anything.
