Hmmm idk it seems like Annoying Orange is feeding into the alt-right agenda more than Biden is into the crazy left
yeah thats cus biden isn't a populist, he's just the normal dog-burying neoliberal type we're all used to. bernie on the other hand is definitely a left-wing populist

either left-wing populism wins or right-wing populism wins at this point. you stand against the capitalist class, or you stand against foreign others. republicans' interests just already align more with immigration controls than with regulating corporations

im fairly sure he actually hasnt and is going entirely off his assumptions of how they work/feel to play given he somehow assumed it typically is $60 a month for a subscription
not unlikely but i'll give him the benefit of the doubt cus some mmos really do be like that. plus some people just don't like RPGs in general, which is totally fair. when i first played ffxiv me and my friends were all frustrated by how slow it felt to get to more interesting content, but with the patch dropping today they're actually gonna be compressing the base game a ton.

Speaking Of Which if anyone hasn't tried FFXIV, or if you have but never got into the expansions, starting tomorrow/today (aug 11), the free trial will include the entire base game PLUS the first expansion. Sixty loving Levels of the game, worth at least a month or two of playtime and you get to do it for free. for reference, currently i think the free trial goes to like lv35 or something? which is maybe halfway through the base game. would highly recommend cus i think ffxiv is genuinely one of the the best mmos out there right now (I havent tried Guild Wars. I havent tried many MMOs. But I Like this one :) )

I play with Old School Runescape membership for free. I can make enough in-game gold in a day to pay for 15 days of membership ($7 value.)
thats dope. i went back to rs3 recently and was pretty disappointed to see the economy is dogstuff, made me want to try out osrs, but startin over without all the baby mode quick-leveling features of rs3 is spooky

if you want freedom from government tyranny, you have to apply a pretty strong amount of scrutiny to the actions of government officials. as actors of the government, police officers deserve that as well. they should not be obeyed and respected unconditionally, and you shouldn't expect those under duress by the police to hold themselves to that standard when treated unfairly. even without ample citations of broad police misconduct, it's clear that you cannot presuppose that the police are acting righteously just because they wield the power of the law. their interests align with the state, not the citizens

i think to some extent it's a lil unfair to think of youtubers (or anyone that makes stuff) in these terms. truth is people change, including viewers, and you aren't going to continue resonating with what a creator makes forever, and they aren't gonna resonate with their old content half a decade down the line either. it'll feel stale because you're used to it if it's never changed, and if they change it you might fall out cus you're just not as into it anyway.

there have been tons of artists and youtubers that i've thought of as my "Big Favorites" and then even a few months down the line my interests or theirs have evolved and i just don't feel the same way any more. sad but just how things go. i think that youtube's also kinda made things harder for some people, accommodating Advertiser Friendliness tends to work more destructively toward creative freedom and quality than constructively

the entire "science" genre in youtube has stagnated
thats because theres no more science. you have learned it all and have become more powerful than they ever will be
