Bad idea!

If you someday capture a castle near that village, you will own it, however, if you raided it you will have bad relations. Thusly, you own village would hate you.

I suggest raiding the villagers who go out of their place, to, per say, a major city. They have good loot.

When you first start off the game, ALWAYS go to arena. I defeat around 12 men each time and I earn 25 money. Keep doing this until you have around 150. Start recruting. And get attacked a few times. Recruit more. And you're pretty much set then. That's what I did.

Good strategy, the arena builds up skill without the dangers of combating real bandits.

Get a band of merry men, and some better gear. Start with looters, not deserters or sea pirates.

Oh, and try your best to join a faction if you want the security it brings.

If you need money, enter a tournament or an arena.

Apparently $14.98 can't cover the 4.99 fee off of steam. I mean, what the heck. I have almost 15 bucks and the game costs 5, dollars. And somehow I can't afford it.

Sorry, can't help there. That's a problem with Steam, not the game.

It may have changed back to 30$
