Description:

Mount and Blade, a game created by indie developer, Taleworlds, is a game based on mediveal warfare, and adventure.

In Mount and Blade, you start on a huge map. You move across this map by clicking on intended destination. In the map, you are as big as a castle, per say, so the moving around is more of an overview.

Mount and Blade's goal, well, there isn't much of one. You can be a free-willed wanderer. Doesn't suit you? Be a bandit. Or perhaps you were born the greatest of knights, destined to be a vassel? Prove yourself to your king.

You can also recruit men from towns, and villages.  These men aid you in combat.

Gameplay:

As I stated before, the map is more of an overview. When you enter a battle, or a town, however, things change.

You go into a third/first, if you choose, person view of your character. From there, it acts like an FPS. Yes, you control every swing of your sword. This will mean that the game takes some skill, at some points.

Get into trouble? Drink a potion of life.

NOT.

No potions. No spells. No magic. (Unless a mod gives it.) This is a realistic game, following realistic mediveal times. No dragons.

Factions:

In Mount and Blade, there are five factions, brutally in war, over Caladria, the land you were thrust into.

Swadians: Dangerous knights. The Swadians occupy the middle of Caladria, and are strong in might.

Rhodoks: The Rhodok Spearmen and Crossbowmen are a deadly force indeed. Just because they are not knights in shining armor, doesn't mean you should underestimate them.

Vaegirs: The bowmen of Caladria. You don't want to be in sight of one of them without a shield, unless you've got the guts to charge them, head on.

Nords: The Nords are what you'd call Vikings. Coming from the north, they have strong axes, and are tougher, at least with skin, then most of the other factions. Fear them when they are near. Especially their Huscarls.

Khergit Khanate: The Kergits live by the horse. Lancers, or Horse Archers, they are mighty, and come with shaking earth, from the might of their horses.

Of course, you can ignore all this and try to be a decent merchant. While your at it, have fun getting destroyed by bandits. Better hire those gaurds fast. :D

Story: There isn't much...you craft your own tale in the world of Caladria.

Tips: When you begin, you will be thrown into the world, with no goals. No objectives. This might be difficult to learn, watch your back for bandits.

Take the tutorial.

Warband:

Warband is the multiplayer expansion pack for Mount and Blade. It's still in beta, but ask me if you want to know about it, I'm in the beta.

Closing:

If you have anything to ask about Mount and Blade, feel free to ask me. I'll tell you all you need to know.

The game costs 30 bucks, but it would be a 30 bucks well spent. Try the trial, and ask about it here, or just anywhere, and you will find a great game, if an FPS suits your needs.

Taleworlds truly made a great game here, and I made this to let everyone in on the specifics. Remember, if you have anything to ask, just ask, and I will do my best to answer.

EDIT:

The deal is off, around now. Sorry, but this game is still worth the 30 bucks. Look into it.

it's actually $5 on steam right now.

it's actually $5 on steam right now.

Your right.

Well you heard him best, peeps. If you want to invest in Mount and Blade, now's the time. 5 bucks is a great deal.

I have it, and I'm with Nords. Recently my entire army got attacked though, So I'm down to 8 unique characters (party members with names and personalities). This bitch keeps saying he's a baron and that he is so special, 3 people have said they didn't like him. I'm firing him soon. I actually just fired this swordsman I had because he eliminated me from the tournament.

And that's the weekly report of my failure :c
