Off Topic / Re: How Science Saved my Soul - I Almost Cried

I have not yet read _Rave_'s raves that I can only assume would occur,_Rave_ is an athiest wut? Well I still haven't read most of this thread. However to carry on:

As a Christian of sorts myself I do not find any offense in this video. Maybe its because I actually disapprove of religion. While I support pursuit of spiritual enlightenment and contemplation about God and such, I do not agree with the man-made hierarchical construct of religion as it exists. When one says religion, images of people sitting in church before a pastor appear in your mind. This should not be so. Religion should be personal, a 1-on-1 connection with the Creator. I find it utterly handicapped that Christians put so much effort in going to church to follow the teachings of a man, when by our very belief system, Jesus died for us to get a closer more direct connection to god.
If God exists, which I do believe, I think that such a video really puts into perspective how awesome he is if we could create us. I also agree that religion shouldn't interfere with the pursuit of knowledge and scientific progress. Vaguely quoting Pope John Paul II on the subject of extraterrestrials, to deny the possibility of the existence of such is to place limits on God's power.

I completely agree with you Ladios. Couldn't have said it better myself.

Help / Re: PortForwarding for 2 computers on the same Network.
« on: October 31, 2009, 07:50:12 PM »
I feel as if i have tried everything, including what you said to do Unknown. Here are some pictures.

The first Picture Shows the Ports that i have Opened for BL. Though it says 28001, i have tried 28000-28000 and 28000-28030 and changed my BL settings, but nothing has worked. The other 2 pictures show various settings like BL settings and my Static IP. The last one shows the Dedicated Server comand prompt, and it gets stuck at posting to master server.

I'm 100% out of ideas, i feel as if i have tried everything. At one point my brother was running a server, and when i would click on my Dedi to join, it would connect to his server.

28000 to 28000 is what the tutorial says, and after checking the router settings, i actually do have it PF'd to 28000-28030, I guess now it's about finding the correct port to put in the BL advanced Settings.

Help / PortForwarding for 2 computers on the same Network.
« on: October 30, 2009, 04:56:15 PM »
I've done this before, but that was when the ports for Bl were 28000-28030 or something like that (So i had more ports to choose from when typing it in under Advanced Settings). But now that the port is 28000-28000, what should the settings be so that i can have more than one computer Portforwarded on my network?

PS: I know how to portforward, i currently have it done for one computer but i just want to make it so that i can have 2 computers both able to start servers. (I have an ID and so does my brother)

I brought Cup Cakes that had plastic rings that had power ranger stickers on them to my christian preschool when I was young, such a fun birthday party I had that day.

Because you get a cup cake, a ring, AND a power ranger sticker.

You say you're against homoloveuality, but you think those people can be together and do things together... The last paragraph only tells me that you don't like it, not that you are against it. To be agaisnt something is to fight back and say it is wrong.

I just don't believe in it, but i guess i'm not the kinda person who wants to run in on some guys but secks and get him to stop because it's against MY religion. If someone came up to me and said, "hey i'm thinking of going gay, what do you have to say about that". Well of course i would tell him i don't condone it, and i would explain to him why and tell him what I believe. And of course, i would listen to what he has to say. I can't control him and be like "Hey no snake and butt for you mister". I'm also not a politician, and i can't stand politics, i guess thats why i just wanna let the gays have their rights because i don't wanna get involved in all the political bull stuff that gets thrown around. And in my mind, i guess i don't see that being against something means fighting back.

Maybe it's just me. But i could care less what some Homoloveual guy does with his Homoloveual buddy. It's not my business, and i don't care to make it my business.

I'm against homoloveuality, because of my religion and what i believe.

But that doesn't mean that i don't think that they shouldn't be able to get married, adopt children, and live normal lives. Just because I don't condone something doesn't mean that they should all just die. Just because someone is homoloveual doesn't mean that they shouldn't be able to live normal (well. Kinda normal lives).

I mean, sure i cringe and gag when i see a gay couple kissing or things, but I'm not going to run up and shout "GOD HATES cigaretteS" to them, because that's not how a christian should act in my mind. We have to be role models and try to remove the image that all Christians are bat-stuff crazy religious freaks.

Agreed. That was actually funny.

I got my copy through the deal for college students, and i love it. Now, i know how everything works since I've been using the RC for a few months, but i'm still happy with the final product. If you can get it [cheap], get it because it's totally worth it.
