Its irrelevant how difficult it is for you to find an old game. The moment Nintendo protects all its old games, no Nintendo product falls under "abandonware".

I'll consider that when nintendo makes it happen

LMAO people in here are actually believing all rom sites and emulators are going to die
These people siding nintendo actions don't know how stuff works here ;)

why pay market value to experience something when you can just break the law

You do realize a physical cartridge for a certain game may not exist anymore and that they can be so rare to the point of costing like three ps4, right?

you do realize they aren't going to fully vanish, right? hardware for ripping from cartridges will always exist, and ripping from discs is easy once you jailbreak/hack/softmod/whatever your system (e.g. CleanRip for the Wii)

emulators aren't going anywhere, though. people develop that stuff all the time and you really can't take down work that they made. xenia for the xbox 360 still has good progress, able to run XBLA games surprisingly well, XQEMU and Cxbx-Reloaded for the OG xbox are both aiming to get stuff working, rpcs3, which couldn't play anything aside from basic homebrew years ago, is starting to get in-game (albeit not fully working) compatibility for more than a few high-quality games, and dolphin has made huge strides over the years, which i'm certain most people are aware of.

Emulators are nothing without roms.

Once the roms vanish, emulators will go aswell

Well at least the emulation pirating scene was dealt a 100 million dollar blow so at least some inpact on this illegal operation has been made.
If one source is taken down, two more are born

think about this: you sell cars. you’ve sold pens at the top car technology for decades, and have the best quality cars in the nation, on the verge of then world. you develop a new car spending millions and years, except as soon as you release it people start selling older models of your car for little to nothing, thus nobody buys you’re kew car which you could make a ton of money off of. of course you’re going to go after the dealers because you’re being forgeted over by their individual selling of your old cars, and people are going to be pussed off about it, because they’re cheap and don’t want to spend all the money to your new car—but you’re still absolutely justified because you’re  businessman and they’re ruining your market

In the end Nintendo can't fully stop emulationscene

there will always be alternatives to get roms and that will never stop.

since emulation has almost been around as long as gaming has

It does

but I wonder why they solved to take action only recently, emuparadise.com has been around for a long time.

Bear with me, people would point fingers out to VC, VC comes from  2006.

Why didn't they do it since the VC birth ?

well uh, they can't sue... so they aren't sueing. in that case its perfectly legal to download their content because the company no longer exists
The thing is....  most of these games are under the nintendo's name and They deleted it without even consulting the original developers

Of course most of the developers are now nonexisted or bankrupt but still..

Look

I'm not 100% emulating, one thing that I find wrong about emulation is when you emulating recent consoles and games, because that is a threat to the gaming industry.

When I was still new to emulation, I had the same views as drydess and thegoodperry, I found emulation ilegal and unethical, but then I soonly realize that the developers weren't caring anymore for the old games

nope I'm dead serious. I demand free copies of all games in the world. Who cares that people worked for years on these games and I'm depriving them of money and making their hard work in vain- I'm entitled to free content because this is the internet and my first amendment rights say I can download other people's things for free

This is clearly nintemdo censoring

Nonsense

Hey kid, do you realize from where the influence of the developers who make your games that you buy with your dad credit card comes from?

They come from classic games and they probably played the very same games on a emulator.
