Mega Bear's Mapping SDK
Five downloads and counting! :cookieMonster:

This is a large resource of mapping tools and objects for use of fellow cartographers looking to learn more about mapping.

Mapping SDK
By Mega Bear, ID 15972

This is written with Windows in mind. If anyone would be willing to write
the following paragraphs for a Mac user, it would be appreciated.

If you haven't already, go to C:\Blockland\base\data\shapes (default Blockland path, your's may differ)
and create a folder called "Interiors" without the quotation marks. This is where you will put all the
interiors and their textures you use, and will allow for easier organization. Make sure to place your
interior into your map's folder and reference it correctly or nobody will be able to see it! Do not
make the mistake of ignoring this fact, it got me perma'd from RTB once.

Includes the following interiors:
- Flat Bridge
- Angled Bridge
- Tower (Tier 1 Defense Building)
- Outpost (Tier 2 Defense Building)
- Cottage
- Farm
- Dock
- Pyramid
- Ruins

To use a custom skybox, place the folder containing all of its textures into your
map's folder. Then reference the skybox's resource.dml through the .mis and you're done.

Includes the following skyboxes:
- Greensky (Plant-filled mountains accompanied a blue sky filled with faint clouds).
- Whiteplanet (Space skybox with two white planets against a purple-ish gas background).
- Zombienight (Mountains in the distance of a night landscape with only the moon for light).
- Hazylake (A lake covered in a gold fog matched with a green tint).

Water Textures:

Water textures, like the previous two resources, are referenced through the .mis! They change the way water
in your map appears. You are able to give different waterBlocks different textures, so you can have a red-hot
volcano in one part of your map and an azure ocean in another part. You'll find that, for some reason,
Torque requires water textures to be ridiculously blue, yet in-game they get toned down to a more natural color.
That's TGE for ya.

Includes the following waters:
- Lava1
- Lava2
- Greenwater
- Graywater
- Purplewater
- Water01
- Water02
- Water03
- BrickWater

Terrain Textures:

Terrain textures are used for grass, sand, rock, detail, snow, and other things. Their name have to be specific or
they break completely, which I am not exactly familiar with the rules as a whole--though I do know enough to get by
and teach you how to work them. Terrain textures are commonly reffered to as simply "tetxures" so I'll do the same for
this guide. In order to correctly use textures in your map, you must give them the names "grass.jpg" "rock.jpg" etc. for
the texture they represent. You can also name them "grass01.jpg" or "rock03.jpg" if you use other grass or rock textures
in your map. The same goes for all other textures like sand or detail. You CAN NOT name them things like "lightgreengrass"
or "layeredrock."

Includes the following textures:
- Rock01
- Rock02
- Rock03
- Grass01
- Grass02
- Grass03
- Sand01
- Sand02
- Sand03
- Detail01
- Detail02

The scripts included in this pack are intended for experienced mappers, primarily ones that have good knowledge of how to
script. Each of the scripts are getting their own paragraph due to lengthy explanations.

Rain - Place all the rain files/textures into your map's folder. Add exec("./rain.cs"); to your .mis as its own line of code.
Then add the following to your .mis as its own code as well:

   new Precipitation() {
      position = "-56.5783 30.1905 0";
      rotation = "1 0 0 0";
      scale = "1 1 1";
      dataBlock = "HeavyRain";
      minSpeed = "1.5";
      maxSpeed = "2";
      minMass = "0.75";
      maxMass = "0.85";
      maxTurbulence = "0.1";
      turbulenceSpeed = "0.2";
      rotateWithCamVel = "1";
      useTurbulence = "0";
      numDrops = "5000";
      boxWidth = "200";
      boxHeight = "100";
      doCollision = "1";

This allows rain in your map, good job! Don't forget to place the other rain files in your map too!

Lava - This script was made by McTwist for Demian's Slate Edits. All credit to the two of them for the creation of this nifty
script. To use it, add exec("./Script_Lava.cs"); to your map's .mis like you would for rain. Remember those lava water textures?
This is where they come in handy! You can reference the lava water texture through the .mis and have lava that looks like lava
AND kills the player when the touch it! Bravo! Additionally, you can modify the viscosity and color of the water to give it
a more lava-y feel. Cool huh?

Drama / Jmayo and His Alt
« on: September 24, 2011, 12:16:38 AM »
Writing this on my iPod so bear with me.

Jmayo is a user that got insulted a multitude of times in the JP Mod topic, and as a result made an obvious alt to spam and troll under.

His debut:

His butthurt example:

All of his alt's (argentinosaurus, if you haven't figured it out) posts are troll attempts and are in caps.

Off Topic / Mega Bear and Extrude's Antics
« on: September 23, 2011, 08:36:31 PM »
Extrude and I have been best friends for over a year now (Up Da Butt Or Ban Film Festival '10!) so I decided to make a collage of all the funniest stuff we've said. It's 800x2500 loving pixels. Hell, this isn't even all the best stuff. These are only the best of the best, the ones I snipped when I wasn't lazy. There are more that I unfortunately never took pics of.

Now, enjoy your laughter. Sorry if it's hard to read.

Drama / Nymethus - Shut the Hell Up Already
« on: September 20, 2011, 07:36:54 PM »
Nymethus is starting a stuffstorm in the JP Mod topic and, being the stubborn idiot he is, does not show any sign of stopping.

Argument begins on this page:

Apparently he is butthurt about the way Hydralisk chose to make his own models, which is evidently ridiculous. Normally I would just accept this as constructive criticism, but he continues to rage and rage until it gets to this point:

We attempt to just end the argument as it is going nowhere and obviously won't yield anything of significance. Here's the most notable pieces of his broken logic.

I'm with this guy. We should just stop arguing as it's rather pointless.

You could stop arguing with me since you don't know what you're talking about, yeah.
I love how you're just trying to start stuff here. Maybe I want to end the argument because it really is pointless? Get over yourself.
I could just tell you the exactly same thing while possibly being more right than you. You could have chosen to not add anything else but you didn't.

Go away, since it's what you want.
In regards to him saying he could "be more right than me":
That is just plain loving ridiculous. Get out, take your horribly broken logic with you.

After that it's just sensible people trying to get him to shut up.

Discuss his arrogance and spontaneous idiocy, not to mention completely driving the topic off it's course.

A collaborative mod pack by Hydralisk, Mega Bear, and Ottosparks.

Hydralisk - Co-leader, modeler and animator for playertypes, modeler for Zap Rod.
Ottosparks - Scripter for dinosaurs and Zap Rod.
- Isla Nublar - 100%
- Isla Sorna - 100%
- Spinosaurus - 70%
- T. Rex - 60%
- Velociraptor - 0% (v2)

Isla Sorna, by Mega Bear:

EXTREMELY early image of a fence interior by Mega Bear. Created long before this topic, and shows how long I've wanted to do a map like this.

Not much work has been done yet, but this project will be finished eventually. Special thanks to Jmayo for sparking the idea for this project, then proceeding to do nothing.

Suggestions & Requests / Model Request: Dead Trees
« on: September 16, 2011, 09:05:23 PM »
Would anyone be willing to make me four models of dead trees? They'd need to have the appropriate collision box, of course. Here's what I'd like them to look like:

Not as prominent of a curve as shown here, but I'd like the tree to be bent slightely to look like it was hit by a shockwave:

There should also be a little bit of leaves on ONE of the trees.

I *MIGHT* be willing to gift you a $5 or $10 game on Steam if the models look good. Remember, they MUST be .dts files, I want to use them for maps. Not bricks, static shapes!

Off Topic / Do You Have Any Addictions?
« on: August 28, 2011, 02:31:23 PM »
Are you addicted to anything?--food, not drugs. I'm addicted to Goldfish and Cheez-It crackers for some reason. They just taste so good. I'm also addicted to Coca Cola. Best soda ever. :c

EDIT: Games and other stuff works too.

Off Topic / Italicized Names
« on: August 28, 2011, 12:31:14 PM »
I've noticed that, in the list of online members, some names are italicized. Why is this?

Examples: tails, ladios, etc.

Games / TF2 or MW2?
« on: August 27, 2011, 09:34:19 AM »
I think they're both good games, as I've played MW2 at a friend's house before, but I like TF2 a bit more. Which one do you think is best?

EDIT: Not trying to see which one is better. That's a matter of opinion. I just want to see which of the two games you guys prefer.

Off Topic / How Much do You Respect the Above User?
« on: August 25, 2011, 09:01:38 PM »
I've found that any other topic like this is kind of vague, and it's always neat to see what other users think of you. Here's how it works.

You rate the above user based on how much you respect them. 0/10 if you absolutely loving hate them, 10/10 if you think they're cool and have common opinions. If you've never seen the above user and therefore can't rate them, simply say N/A to prevent confusion. You are allowed to give reasons.

Off Topic / Pet Peeves
« on: August 25, 2011, 03:26:45 PM »
Share your pet peeves and such.

I don't have that many.
Real life: Dirty fingernails :(
Internet: When people call me "megabear." Learn to loving read dolts, it's either "Mega Bear" or "Mega-Bear." I prefer the first.

Off Topic / Adam Savage and "RUBY"
« on: August 24, 2011, 08:52:24 PM »
RUBY - Leaded by Adam cigarettegage
Click ^

Adam Savage has some stupid clan named "RUBY" devoted to "spying" and "catching hackers." In order to get into his clan you have to complete an easy and feeble challenge to prove your skills at spying on other servers, AKA stealing builds, ideas, etc. Not much to this drama as RUBY is so simple and imbecilic, yet has over twenty pages due to intelligent people trying to knock some sense into the dumbass forum members that decided to join said clan of failure.

RUBY's symbol:

Jesus wtf is it.

Adam Savage's Latest Posts, almost all of them about how a they've recruited a new kid who's just watched Spy Kids for the first time.

A good example of the collective intellect of RUBY members:

The poorly-made images for their layout.

Pages of the clan topic that show their stupidity:

Simply put, RUBY is a useless clan in general and is really just a place for idiots, unheard of members, and kids to rot.

Suggestions & Requests / Condiments
« on: August 23, 2011, 07:11:59 PM »
This is a lovey idea. Ketchup, Mustard, and Mayo condiment bottle thingies that shoot the appropriate condiment, then cause the screen to flash the color of said condiment for a second or two.

Yep these could be used for bleeding, peeing, and cumming.

I would REALLY prefer if they were in this style:
