Author Topic: No-Player-Collision Player  (Read 1837 times)

I posted a topic like this and got this:
I'm not sure how big of a change this might be, collision masks are static so I'm not sure what would blow up by altering it on the fly. It does sound like a handy idea though.

But I wondered, long after the topic died - Corpses don't collide with players, right? But they still collide with bricks and interiors and terrain, and they use the same model.

However, there's severe limitations with the corpses.

I have suggested and tested this before. I came to the conclusion that by changing the player's dimensions in a certain way made it so their respective collision box was so small that players just passed through each other. However this produced a problem, the players were flat. The players were flat, and they looked stupid.

:/

Falling endlessly through the map?

Sounds more frustrating than fun.

Not saying it still wouldn't require engine changes to pull off properly.

I was certain that the death player was either a vehicle or a strange particle. Am I dumb?
