Author Topic: [Xbox] does anybody else see no point in the "rep" system?  (Read 1877 times)

They are linked and it does affect the stars.

If you have a vote of 0 on both sides, one vote won't set the stars to 5 or 0, it's on a curve or something. It takes an accumulation of a lot of negative votes to lower the stars.
It must take a lot because I never see it below default.

I do, but it's not common. A lot of people simply have all of their friends rates them up to counterbalance any negative ones.

I had a lot of 'avoids' and very few 'prefers' and I had 5 stars.

But it's also been a long time since I've been on xbox live.

I think how it displays who voted what is misleading.

Um yeah, completely useless, and broken.

You start with 2.5 stars.

ANY kind of rating (avoid or prefer) will increase this rating, and it will never drop.

Usually I'm a fast learner.
The day I bought MW2 and Halo 3 i was appearing at the top of the scoreboards when i was Private(MW2) and Apprentice(H3).
I don't think anyone likes it when the newcomer wins.
I had really good Rep, But then it shot down like 40 percent.
The worst ones were "Trash Talking", "Language", And "Tampering".
I didn't have a Mic when i was 13, and i was Shy, more or less.
So i didn't message anyone.
Luckily soon after my friends list was full(100 People) and they helped my rep a little.

I wonder why they won't fix a super little thing but instead realase a bunch of useless things like the new dashboard.

Contrary to my last post being a total douchebag (but it is true), Rep is a useless stat since it doesn't affect anybody I know or care about. loving who cares if randoms avoid you because they are more skilled or better trash talker than you.

nope.avi.

I don't like people who are trash talking stuff eaters. I rep them, and XBOX will try to match me up with those who don't talk stuff.

I forgot about this, but ADDITIONALLY, the rep system helps in matchmaking.

Maybe Microsoft expected that people would always rate people down in rage, so they made it much easier to get up then down.

When I played Call of Duty 4, I started getting avoided for "Trash Talk/Inappropriate Language."
Even though I had never cussed, or made fun of other players.
I was actually the only one saying "Good game," and such comments.

It kinda pissed me off then, but now it matters not.
I rarely even play the Xbox any more.

My xbox got the red ring of death.
Stop reminding me about it.
