Author Topic: Is there JVS packs with LESS events?  (Read 822 times)

Trying to make a railroad, but the boom barrier from Phydeoux's JVS pack isn't like normal doors (I think)
I swear I saw a server with the same pack but it had less events.
Is there a link to that?

You may be referring to Demian's doors, which can be found on RTB i believe. they aren't JVS but have a lot more extra styles, and some are remakes of JVS

Please don't use JVS, its a overcomplicated thing that requires 20 events for one door.

Use the new Legacy_Doors System that is included in V21, it reduces all the 20+ events needed into 3 or 4 simple events.

I use LegacyDoors myself but I personally consider it to be inferior because it has no player stuck detection, which can be incredibly annoying. I have to add onPlayerTouch events that then open the door so people cant get stuck, but those are only acceptable to use with doors that are futuristic ot have motion sensors.

Oh and the fact that there is no restriction system is pretty annoying too. Luckily though I can use VCE to make my own restriction system, so thats good.

Is better than using VCE for door restriction.

The new doors have a border for that exact reason.
If the player gets stuck, they can just click the frame and the door will open.

Those "doors" are absolutely awful and way too big for most of my builds, and players still easily get stuck in them and cant get out. I like the animated JVS doors much better than the legacy door crap. I only use the system mod for Legacy because JVS is crap-on'd (Even then I was using JVS before with 0 problems). The borders on "new doors" are one big reason why I DON'T use them, as well. They are ugly and have no animations.

You can't shoot through the opening of an animated JVS door which is why I stopped using them.

It even made JVS windows useless.
