i believe backing out on that detail was what made dead island such a failure.,

It definitely caused dead island to fail. One of the top leading fails. The game sucked in general and they removed their controversy for more publicity

Aw man, i voted in the poll before "morals are just a chemical reaction" was an option.
I'm completely fine with killing children in video games, but i don't have a problem with a game not letting me do it.

It definitely caused dead island to fail. One of the top leading fails. The game sucked in general and they removed their controversy for more publicity
wow tony, you really do live and die by "all publicity is good publicity"
And, personally, i really disagree with you on that.

the only loving difference in a game between a kid and an adult is how hard they are to kill (not including skyrim's bullstuff)

they usually run on the same core entity scripts, they were spawned at around the same time, etc

i believe backing out on that detail was what made dead island such a failure.,
The game sold 5 million copies, has spawned 2 sequels, and had 2 spin-offs.
As well as the same company developing Dying Light, which uses many of the same features, and is even more successful.

I don't think them deciding not to include children, after they had a child in the trailer, really affected their success.
