Author Topic: Would you kill a kid in a videogame?  (Read 6023 times)

If games like Fallout started allowing you to kill children again like the glory old fallout games, would you do it?

We seem to forget that videogames aren't real and even though the world in the videogame is different we try too hard to compare it to our reality.

I've read stories about even games like Dead Space where people refused to kill the alien zombie children/babies even though the babies/children are actively trying to kill you. At some point you have to draw the line between not only fiction and non-fiction. Even so if your real life was threatened by a zombie alien child your self defense would kick in.

I see too many people trying to criminalize killing children in videogames but it's no different than killing an adult in said videogame

only if they annoyed me

Same rules apply for kids and animals as for every other NPC. If they're hostile or if I'm really loving bored and they annoy me, yes.

I don't get what the forget this stigma is about where we can't kill certain kinds of people. loving babies in our society.

WE SELL THINGS WE'RE NOT EVEN ALLOWED TO SELL PEOPLE, HERE AT MIC AND RALPH'S

itt; yes

For no reason? No.
But if it was needed for a quest or something I would have no problem with it

lego lad those dinos will come for u!!!

it sure would be satisfying to kill those village kids in skyrim

I tried killing that kid too many times.

The thing with people is just that it seems "wrong" to hurt a child no matter if real or fictitious.
Personally I wouldnt do it unless necessary

maybe just that one kid in skyrim. "another wanderer, here to lick my father's boots. good job."

yes but it would be forgeted up if it was an assassination level in a game

Well Fallout for example is another world entirely.

The kids in that game grew up drinking irradiated water from a sewer pipe and no doubt know how to use a gun and perhaps even killed people themselves. Yet we still see them as innocent little children.

In a real post apocalyptic future children are fair game.

I'd recreate Ethan's death from GoT if Bethesda wasn't so lame.
