WHEN HE WAS 2 YEARS OLD
the exact day/birthday/whatever, his brother was ALSO HALF HIS AGE, meaning WHEN HE WAS 2, HIS BROTHER WAS 1. fast forward 98 years, he's 100 and his brother is 99. it isn't difficult. you can't really misunderstand the grammar because there is only one correct interpretation.
You realize that I understand that right?
I never said 99 was wrong. I know that the
best answer is 99. But depending on how you look at it, 148 could also be a legitimate answer, albeit an impractical one that requires you to overthink it a little.
"when i was 2 years old" is past tense, and "my brother was" is also past tense. (HINT HINT LOOK AT THE WAS)
Yes but what you don't seem to understand is that 'my age' is
not necessarily affected by the 'was.' He could be talking about his current age
or his 2 year old age. He was two years old, yes, his brother was a certain age back then, yes, but the age they're talking about isn't necessarily that 2 year old age.
I'm not going to argue this with you more. It's just some silly Facebook question that doesn't matter, if you want to get worked up over it then you can.
