Author Topic: Crysis Nanosuit Powers  (Read 1678 times)

Yes, you read right. Crysis Nanosuit powers.

Main Idea

The ability to do a lot of things, such as have some shield, jump higher, run faster and turn invisible all by pressing a button.

This works as a minigame player type, not an item/weapon. It will have two versions, jets and no jets. If you press a key on your keyboard, it will go into that suit mode (i.e. Strength, Cloak, etc.). The keys will be bindable, for people with different keyboards. If it's possible, I think that the default keybinds will be blank, just so they won't overwrite anything else and people get frustrated.

How it works

Easy. Set up a minigame with either the Nanosuit Jets Player or Nanosuit Player player type, and start the minigame with the desired minigame settings. You just press any of the 4 buttons in the minigame and you are in that mode. An on-screen message will tell you which mode your in. Lets say for example, I bind the Armor mode to the key "F". I press the key "F" and a message tells me "Armor mode active". If possible, it would be cooler to play the sounds in Crysis ("Maximum Armor, Cloak Engaged, Maximum Speed, etc.").

Why?

Because, Crysis is a cake of win. Blockland is too. I know, "BLOCKLAND + OTHER GAMES = PHAIL NUB!!!!!", and I'm pretty much a hypocrite for starting this thread. But I think this is a really good idea, and would make DM a lot more fun. I'd like to see this get made.

Hmm, I've considered this before.  The problem is, to do it right, you'd need some clientside stuff for keybinds, etc. And it would probably require a new datablock for a lot of the stuff.

yay clientside dream crusher of doom

Basically it would require Badspot to implant this into the v9 patch installer so that everyone will use it?

It's better if you hold down a key to make a gui appear, and when you let go you automatically click the button your mouse is over.

Middle mouse button :D

Radius GUI.

Just make it so people who download from the forums are able to use it.  That way it's self advertising.  I think it's a great idea and very possible to do.  I think someone should run off on this, but please spend a little bit of time in the model.

I've done part of it. The shields and the cloaking.

Model?

You just press middlemouse and the radius GUI appears, move mouse to choice, bam.

hmmm, way i think of it you'll need a player datablock for each power (Four?) and then switch between them when the button is pressed, also i thought of doing this once

No.
I'm not going to even bother typing why this is wrong because everyone will just go "tl;dr"
