Yes, being a fan of the original game (Yes, i know it's not the best game ever made, but i still enjoyed it, and i had some spare money) i decided to get this game, and when finished it, and watched the ending, i was pretty much "WHATISTHISIDON'TEVEN"
http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Drawn_to_Life:_The_Next_ChapterGo to the plot (DS version) in this wiki if you haven't even played this game before.
In the ending, all the main characters in the game die, because it's "What's right" and one in specific character, Mike, survives, and turns out to be some regular 8 year old who lost conscious in a car crash, when he woke up, it turns out he just imagined everything that happened when he was unconscious, and Mari and Jowee, the main two characters, were just based on dolls he'd won at the carnival, and then the credits world with a sad song to go with it.
I mean, the ending was certainly sad indeed, but damn, it made completely no sense, Mike never had much to do with the plot until near the ending, there wasn't any build-up in the plot, oh no, and the worst part is it would probably make any kid who plays this game depressed for some time, i mean, the ending doesn't contrast at all with the cheerful, colourful world at the start.
I mean, imagine Super mario brothers for the NES, but after defeating bowser and rescuing the princess you find out it's just Mario's dream, and he was just another common plumber who worked in Brooklyn, and then credits roll with some sad music, i'd be "Wait, what?" if that was the real ending.
Yes, it's hard to explain the ending due to how confusing it is, but look here.
