Author Topic: what will v15 hold?  (Read 20723 times)

I wonder what else he can "see"
Dedicated or not, port, Version, CPU info, CPU MHz, GPUMAN(?), and GPU

I hope V15 has a button you click to make your server dedicated and then click it again to stop running it.

Perhaps a box in music brick guis which allows you to set the radius in which people can hear the music.

I keep meaning to make a picture of the letters V15 holding up a tower or something.
But i'm too lazy for that.

I would love being able to turn off chat for everyone but host and SA, but still everyone can see like Flashback --> Tezuni and spawnmessages and stuff.

No u

If it has anything to do with making any abusive weapon work on this version, Then I do not want it!  :cookieMonster:

DirectX compatible I hope.

About shadows again, I'm really just annoyed how one wall in a house is always really bright compared to the other walls because of the lack of shadows. Wouldn't it be possible to just tell the engine to add transparent black 2D images over the bricks that are all underneath another set of bricks? It would be like how the early Minecraft used shadows.

If not the above, there could be a "no sunlight" light. Kind of like the dark light, only it just cancels out the regular light but not the ambient light of the map.

Here are my other suggestions:

- Precipitation should have collision with bricks to avoid the common "snowstorm in my kitchen asdf" problem.
- Music bricks should also have radius controls with a set limit that could be edited in the server options.
- "light zones" which is an option put next to the type of light in the wrench menu. You can set the volume in brick units so light wouldn't leak into other places.
- A default colon print. Seriously.
- Less or no jitter when loading each server in the "join a game" window.
- Option to download prints, decals and skybox textures.
- An ambient underwater sound effect when you're underwater.
- Prints, decals, textures, etc. are affected by light sources. (we wouldn't need my slightly buggy texture replacements, eh?)
- More lights are allowed to be on at once, so you don't have a bunch blinking on and off when they're everywhere.
- Objects cast shadows onto bricks. It's already done when you take a picture, and they cast perfectly onto interiors.
- A file/search system for the map window.
- Different player emotes for browsing the escape menu, wrench menu, or possibly IRC. Like the brick menu emote, but with "ESC", "WRENCH", and "IRC". Also, the emotes stay instead of instantly vanishing.
- Volume control for music bricks.
- Rendering, collision, and raycasting options for music bricks.
- A default Water FX paint.

Random/maybe impossible things:

- Admins can wrench other players and set size, color, light, nickname, etc.
- Playing the "moving backwords" animation when moving in water.
- Foot. Step. Sounds.

And no, I'm not going to give up about this.

- Hands are visible in first person.
- Small sized players jump at a slower speed and height than they do right now.
- Server favoriting/rating/tagging.
- Anti-aliasing option.
- Shadows are cast by objects onto themselves. (disregarding bricks)
- Soft shadows for players, vehicles, etc.. No more pixely stuff.
- Server option to enable server-side physics. It also displays a message to the player when they join warning them that it might run slowly depending on their computer.
- Emitters work on fakekilled bricks.

There. Hopefully this doesn't go ignored.
