Author Topic: Build in the middle of bricks  (Read 1199 times)

Well, Iv been wondering if its possible to build in the middle of the bricks.
Like, you place a 2x2 plate and you can put a 1x1 cone in the middle or a little stud.
It may possibly help a lot of people with their building situations.

  Think its a good idea?

It would have to be a 2x2 brick that just has a cone in the middle. Possible. Very Possible.

Also, I thought this was something else so I took this picture for no reason :(

It is very possible. I created a mod similar to this that let you chose whichever brick limit you would like to bypass. (Float, overlap, buried, stuck, etc...)

Wait, what?
Where?

I have seen this glitch with the creeper mod

Creeper bricks also float if the bricks they're on are removed.

And this mod doesn't break the game?

It doesn't. I have it and it works fine.

Oh gimmie gimmie.

It's not possible to build off-the-grid. A 1x1 cone in the middle of a 2x2 round would be half way off the grid in both directions which isn't allowed. This isn't going to be done because it'd jeopardize a lot of the ways in which rendering is optimised.

What can be done is, if you try placing something in the middle of a rectangular brick, the brick could be split into smaller bricks, leaving room for the new brick to be placed.
