So I'll shoot at the deer with the middle gate closed, they run into the spot on the left and I'll run back out of my spot at the right. Then run and close the door behiend them they'll be stuck and I'd shoot them, only issue is I don't have a sling or any marksman skill yet.

Right click the fire first

Go into Craft>Cooking>And roast meat, now you will right click the fire and then hit the craft button, then wait a while and it should cook.

I go head on with deer. They get stuff easy when you get a nice ql sling.

I don't have a sling though, I was mainly just thinking on how to kill them once I've got a sling and some marksman points.

That won't work. You'll need someone else to close the gate on the left after they get in, because when you end up on the other side they can walk out before you close it, I think.
