Be patient. It usually gives an error "Download stalled" or somewhat to that effect.

Just leave it on.

Did you even bother to read at least from page 280 till here?
If you know, we split in groups of threes or go hermit style around the map, all starting from the Ruins of Hartopolis. Answer is no, there is no blocklander village.
EDIT: Tow boars, one gate trap, and a herd of wild sheep downed in 30 minutes with another guy that has 30 marks like me.
DOUBLE EDIT: it seems, hiding behind trees or rocks will keep you from getting aggro'd...A bear walked right past me...O_O
