You could go hours without seeing any signs of civilization, or you could go 5 minutes. You never know. PM me your HS(Press the heart then where it says "My Hearth Secret" type something in and press Set, then PM me it, and it's case sensitive), and I can help you.

people are handicapped with google maps.
i have about 2 more zoom levels then they do. you can see every tree and cliff edge just as detailed as the mini map.

going to a populated village wont help.
people are busy farming or hunting and wont talk to you.
go to someone elses village (like mine maybe) and they will give you close to a tutorial
