1), download the file above^^
Second) Create a directory eg C: \ Havenmaps \
3) Open the file "IRC-Extended-Haven-Mapper" in notepad and look for lines of map.dir
4) Edit it to look like this:

<property name="haven.mapdir" value="C:\Havenmaps" />

5) Download the file http://www.mediafire.com/?imzwim2mwzy
6) Put mkmap.exe into the C: \ Havenmaps directory
7) You are done! walk around in the game for a while using the client, it will save minimaps wherever you go. Exec mkmap.exe to compile all of the minimaps together. The output files will be labeled as out_xxx.

You play the game normally, and after you're done playing and have closed the window, you execute mkmap.exe and it stitches all the images together into a big map. You can use it for easy reference.

I'm not sure if they will eat from anything other than a chicken coop.
If you don't put them in a coop with food, they will die.

What do you mean by making the client too big?
And the client will just crash whenever you CLOSE the console, so just don't open it or open and then move the console to the very top to hide it and keep it minimized.
